Hmmm lets have a look at this

Last year

1.Widely touted as the weakest list in the league (a certaintity for bottom place).Managed to keep them off bottom place and brought to the front someone exceptional talent

2.Managed to presuade Waterhouse to remain at the club.

3.Resisted the temptation to trade one of his number 2,3,5 picks in the national draft.Drafted exceptionally well, 2 key position players and one Harvey like mid field player.

And so on

Will keep his job.Extremely popular with the players.

He had a lot of heart at least. The club was young, so really he didn't have much to work with.

How do you guys feel about Ross Lyon so far? Any concerns his style of footy at St Kilda didn't hold up too well in pressure situations (grand finals etc...)?

We are happy. How do you guys feel about Clarkson so far? Any concerns about his style of footy? doesn't hold up too well in Geelong situations;)

Huge concerns about Clarkson actually! I really feel like his coaching style has not evolved at all since 2008.

Didn't hold up too well?

They lost by a kick to possibly the greatest team of all time, who handed out floggings in the other two grand finals they won, then went into another grand final as underdogs against a rampaging Collingwood who were smashing every team in the league and managed to hold them to a draw.

All this while having one of the weakest bottom 6's of any of the recent grand final teams. The only reason they were even in those grand finals was because of Lyon.

Really? Saints had a great list, consistently one of the best in the league for 5-6 years

Nup the TEAM including the coach was one of the best in the league for 5-6 years due to gameplan and knowing roles, they had top end talent but some real dogs filling out the best 22 each week. Brett Peake anyone? Gilbert - greate athlete but one of the worst kicks in the competition etc. etc.

Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood etc. all had better spread of talent in the same period.

Anyway BOT Drum I think got the players fired up to have a crack but was really poor tactically. His trademark was a good first quarter but after that the opposition would adjust and we were never in the game again. He did however hang onto to draft picks rather than trade and for that we do thank him.

Does anyone remember one year, the day after the season had ended he had the players out doing 3pm time trials? He was notorious for Freo to be "hard b&$@ds" and win the inside ball...problem was after that we there was no real tactics.

Yes you are right. Mind you that was something we did need to address. Having watched Geelong while Drum played there it seems an unlikely theme for him to champion though. He was fast, and after that not sure I could name an attribute.

"Effectively you know what the stakes are from the result of that game," Drum said. "We were very, very clear we went out to win ... but the prize we got for not winning was Matthew Pavlich."

You Forgot Paul Hasleby was serviceable for us as well... 210 games from 2000-2010 and he was a rising star winner and 2003 all australian.

Looking back at Damian Drums coaching career at freo, He was a poor coach but not the worst of All time. Matthew Primus was the coach at Port from 2010-12 and he had a better squad than Freos 1999-2001 squads. Mark Neeld might be gone as soon as a few days if they lose to GWS.

There are a growing group of Hawks fans that are wishing Leon Cameron hung around, let me tell you.

I think Drummy was more a victim to the list than being a shithouse coach. We've seen some stinker lists in our time, but he had one of our best (or in this case, worst).

The bloke actually made some very astute calls by culling blokes like Bondy, Prescott etc, basically one of the first rebuilds of the modern era, unfortuately for him, he had nothing but trash to rebuild around.

Yeah, personally, I don't think Neald is a coaches arseh*le. I saw one of his pregame/half time speaches the otherday, and it was nothing more than a piss weak attempt at an Anthony Robbins promotional video, except without the wicked cool motivation, inspiring leadership. Was just rambling on like it was ****ig braveheart, the players had no idea waht was going on, and the shit he was saying was in no way, shape or form, related to a game of football.

Tell me how you're going to be inspired to run out in to battle for, or respect a man that has a ****ing eyeball twitch, and looks like he's going to have a brain aneurysm at any moment? The bloke is one unlicked envelope stamp away from going postal on a ****ing post game interview.

Wayne Britain was flat out, ******edly dumb, but at least he was a footy nut. Mark Neald just hasn't got a clue whatsoever.

Seriously, though, someone needs to just sack this bloke and buy him an 18 month membership to a health resort. The blokes about to pop a blood vessel on national television...
