Dunc

Are rippling muscles and being handsome good enough in this day and age to get a game of footy? Surely some microcosm of skill wouldn’t go astray hey? Dunc, you are a spunk and a nice person and courage personified and everything they say you are – except you are past it. Had it totally confirmed last year when Dunc played on Voss at Coronial – he carved him up totally. Too slow, too many debilitating injuries are catching up with him. I’m sure he’d manage to contain a few good players, but up against the best, he has been found wanting.

Am I wrong, or am I as disillusioned about Dunc as this poor journalist?? is

Surely we don’t have to go backwards again by selecting dinosaurs like Dunc. I’m sure there’d be other players who can kick a ball and still take on the role as tagger and do just as well.

I have been wondering whether Father Time and injuries have finally caughy up with Dunc. He really has played very little football over the past 3 - 4 years and this really may well be his last year.

We do appear to have plenty of hardness in the middle and haven't really missed him at all this season - which is rather sad in a way.

I just wonder when diggler will get his much awaited mid-week press conference!

I agree 100% with Captain Custard. Whilst I admire Duncan for his courage, the selectors will have rocks in there heads if they give him a senior game. His lack of pace and disgraceful skills will look plain stupid if he is alongside the likes of Kane & Coughlan.

Guys,

I have been to a few games and seen Dunc play. He's as tough as he ever was, his vision for footballer is just as good as anyones. But there are things about him that most footballer's dont have which is why I think he will get a game.

- His fitness
- His ability to stick to a job for %100 of the time. Maybe I have remind you all of 1 N.Buckley clocking Dunc and getting a week for doing so out of frustration. (Buckley cracked).

You may be down on his foot skills, most people confuse awkward style to bad kicking. To be honest, Dunc gets the ball where it is supposed to go most of the time, which is about what I would say most footballers do.

I am not sentimental about Dunc, but I still think he can offer something to the senior side. No One AND I repeat no one tags as well as Dunc and he's just as hard at in and Unders as Cogs and Kane. So, dont write him off yet.

Anyway seeing Froars went to considerable trouble visiting old sites she's banned from to collect subject material I'll grace this with a reply.

If Duncan Kellaway retires it will be due to his battle scarred body letting him down.

It won't be due to crap reasons like Froars suggested, ie lack of skill and pace.

Danny said last week he can't wait to get Dunc in the team. Enough said. When Dunc's fit he'll be straight back in.

dunc isnt the most skillfull player going around but how many players show the same comitment to the tiger cause than dunc?he use,s his ability to full affect and thats something some other players dont do on a regular basis.
sadly tho i believe this will be dunc,s last year his mind is ok his body isnt.
