Whats the best software
DVD Shrink
and Any DVD
Can they back up new Disney DVD or is there something better?

Don't know what newer stuff is out there, but I've always used:

- dvd shrink
- anydvd
- clone dvd 2 (elaborate bytes)
- dvd decrypter

clone dvd I use for burning single and dual layer, ripping stuff off dvds without shrinking (or splitting a dvd onto two discs - one disc movie, one disc extras) - it actually removes the extra (replaces with 1 black frame) rather than shrinking to still frame videos like dvdshrink (sometimes a dvd with extras will have the movie on one layer, extras on another - sometimes keeping menus dvdshrink would still need to shrink the movie slightly, but not shrink if completely removed with clone dvd) have also used clone dvd to rip the extras, then I shrink that (for better quality with long movies in dvdshrink). dvd decrypter for ripping single/dual layer (and burn in clonedvd), PS2 etc.

no idea about disney dvds sorry.

kept crashing at 15%
took it back got another copy smae thing 15%
must have some new Disney copy protect

I was doing some research recently about this and remember seeing something on Disney Dvds being protected or something from ripping or copying.

Anyway what I gleaned was
anydvd
dvd shrink
clonedvd 2
is all you'll need for backing up most dvds

I'm told you might well use DVD Fab Decrypter, the free version. It very, very seldom fails apparently. Then it seems you open the ripped files in the created Video_TS folder in DVD Shrink to create an .iso to fit a DVD 5. There'll be nothing in the Audio_TS folder for reasons no-one needs to know. Of course this procedure would not be legitimate even if it was to back up a disk which you personally owned.

Yes, DVD Fab Decrypter is very good. You could also spring for DVD Fab Platinum, which has a lot more options than the free version. I've yet to encounter a DVD I couldn't back up with the Fab software. :thumbsu:
