Single worst part about yesterday is the Perth commentary team is actually pretty good. Papalia is terrific; no barracking, no useless stats, no ridiculous family history (yet another atrocity started by McAvaney), he actually calls the game and lets the action speak for itself. Pavlich is good, Buckley is good etc.

But had to ruin it by inserting that fat fecking moron into the call.

No. Completely wrong. I don't want to be a caller, and I don't care if he makes 100K, 200K, 500K a year to do it. Good for him.

Why he's hated by many (as a commentator) is:

1. Talking up literally every single passage of play like its exceptional.
2. SHOUTING. ALL. THE. TIME.
3. Following the Bruce protocol of absolutely irrelevant bits of trivia about players that he seems to think provide some amazing insight. No one cares if a player's uncle was in the Botswana 2nd XI at basket weaving.
4. Relentless insertion of horrendous phrases that aren't funny, aren't clever, aren't entertaining, and are completely cringeworthy.
5. A late addition but a worthy one - pretending to be at the ground from a South Melbourne studio. You fat clown.

I'm sure there are many, many more.

I don't think that is the case. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you're jealous of them. It may be, as hard as this may be to fathom, one just doesn't like the way he calls a game. As stated above all are very good examples of why he is not very good. I reckon he has gone downhill once he started calling basketball games.
