Can't base this on much more than a few interviews and watching the way he goes about it - but he seems like a really good quality genuine kid. And I think he'll wear the jumper with pride over the (hopefully) next 10 years.

He is. Very mature, down to earth, likeable guy.

So glad we landed this kid.

While his work rate is commendable, his composure is immense.

When the ball came back to him tonight, and he thought through it and switched, I was genuinely rapt we have someone who evidently can see play unfolding and better yet, dictate the play. Schneider is one of the only other guys we have that has that ability.

I know that's one example, but I've seen him do it consistently now, think his way out of situations.

On you Dylan :)

Roberton is a sound choice, but the accompanying commentary is the usual Daily Filth form (reflecting that few of them watch the Saints unless they are playing their team). Rhys Stanley? He'd be doing a bit better in the B&F than his 25th place last year!!! And serviceable would seem to be under-selling the impact of a defender who is relatively attacking with disposals and averages close to 20 a game.

Hard to pinpoint Saint surprises, but the former Docker has been serviceable in the absence of Gwilt and others so far.

I often bag the Age for this and that, but its footy coverage is so far ahead of the Hun's it's hilarious. That column the Hun had last year which purported to be Robbo and another journo at the pub talking footy pretty much summed the whole operation up.

Nah, let them keep dismissing our players, while we quietly put together a strong and versatile back six.

very impressive if you don't mind me coming in here to say.
Took the game on, was self assured with disposal use and he also seems to have size to go along with his foot speed.

Have to continue to remind myself not to attach him with any decision we made about a full back...

in which case he's a ****ing ripping pick up. So glad to have him.

Sensational game and isn't it great watching him take the game on, with his composure and dash. A player we got for nothing. May I suggest that other homesick young champions, especially at GWS and Suns, have a look and see how welcome we would make you at the Saints.

Must be close in the B&F along with Roo. Absolutely loving his games this year. There has been a lot of humble pie being eaten by some on this forum which to be fair they have all come out and said so themselves. Both Wright and Roberton are going to be cornerstones of our defence for a number of years!!

He's showing everyone why Ross Lyon rated him so highly and we they tried everything to keep him at Fremantle.

It was more about his missus and the baby and wanting to be back near family wasn't it SC?

Yea was all about his family. He was happy to not play any footy if no Melbourne club picked him up.

There was strong talk of a straight swap of Bower for Roberton the trade period before last.
May have just been a favourable trade for us.

Really impressed with his composure and run last night.
If that's the standard you'll be getting, then you've really got yourself a good one.
