Hey I heard a rumour that EA was finally bringing another afl game out.

I can't find any info so can anyone confirm this for me and if so when is it going to come out?

Thanks

AFL Live 2005 will be out in April, but will not be called AFL Live 2005.
Acclaim published 2004 and 2003, and Acclaim is now dead.
There will be a new publisher for 2005.
It may or may not be EA.
No more info.

I don't know if they'd think they would make a big market with afl live as I thought they were mainy u.s based? If anyone should do it though it should be them.

they should just release a version of FIFA 2005 but with all the AFL Teams and players

it would still be soccer...

but it would be more realistic then any of those ********ty afl live video games

They are and I really hope they do make it.

I hope you're joking!

You guys should give up on AFL games. We're never going to get a decent one because we're always going to end up with 2nd (or 3rd) rate developers working on it.

If EA were to make another AFL game, they're hardly going to put their best dev team onto the project.

In fact, EA could put their best dev team on it and it would still be a piece of junk.

"AFL Season, Game Modes and User Functionality
Dynasty Mode - Continuous Season Play (up to 10 years)
Full fixture and player lists for 2005 season
AFL Tribunal with reports and suspensions
End of Season player trading
Individual User profiles
Rule Changes to Wizard Cup (if any occur)
Match statistics
Expanded Game Statistic"

...it took them a few years but finally they're putting some decent management options in the game!
This game better be at least as good as they say it will be...

yeh took em like 3 years and it will be great compared 2 previous efforts i am sure but ********house compared 2 games like FIFA and NHL 2005 with their new franchise/career modes.

also i dont see draft there but they have 2 have it if they expect you 2 play 10 years.

also i bet it will be a realli crappy trade thing. player for player with basically any average player goin for any other average player. a good player for another good with stuff like age and team's needs playing no part. also i cant forsee rookie lists, contract and money management, preseason draft and training schedules

Rephrase:
they're putting some management features into the game. They will spend heaps of time doing them, and the gameplay itself will most likely still be average at best.

designed to keep you enthralled to the final whistle.

final whistle? WTF is isn't soccer!

if there is a Gaelic game made by the same mob, it makes you wonder how hard it would be to include an Internation rules component into both or atleast one fo the games!?!!?!?! hopefully that could happen latter on.

but that means they'd have 2 design a completly new game engine just for a series that lasts 2 matches.

i'd settle for a very basic afl game with decent graphics (afl live 2004 ones would do though they aint top notch), the 2005 squads and just the ability 2 play a single season with finals IF it had really good gameplay.

would rather a game thats great 2 play without all the other stuff even though i'd like franchise type modes etc then one with all the trading n drafts n multiple seasons thats easy as n plays like ********

I'd love a decent and commercially made Football Management game life the CM series was.

And don't count Kevin Sheedy.

Honestly, it becomes pointless with the long AFL seasons as they become so tedious and unless you play like two minutes, you don't finish full games.

Its like test matches on cricket games, you dont defend and end up two hundred or so from twenty overs.

I believe the new footy fanatic will be out in the not too distance future; looking forward to seeing how they go this time around.

did ne one else get the ********s with the fact the teams were done b4 trade and draft ... so when i tried playing as carlton i couldnt play with; stevens, scotland, walker, mcgrath, bannister, johnson, morell, teague, kenna (LOL), mott (LOL) etc etc etc.

if they bring it out in april at least they'll have next years lists not this years.

The last one was ********.I had it for a day and traded it it for Vice City.Great swap.

Jesus Christ. That's like Trading Ben Holland for Nick Riewoldt! You r*ped em there.

And I've been crying out for EA Sports to do an AFL game, I just hope whoever is doing this new one is somewhere close to games like Madden and NBA Live in terms of detail and gameplay.
