did ne one else get the ********s with the fact the teams were done b4 trade and draft ... so when i tried playing as carlton i couldnt play with; stevens, scotland, walker, mcgrath, bannister, johnson, morell, teague, kenna (LOL), mott (LOL) etc etc etc.

if they bring it out in april at least they'll have next years lists not this years.

Yeah, I got all 3 AFL Live games.

AFL 2003 had 2002 Lists.
AFL 2004 had 2003 Lists.
wheras you missed out on:
AFL Live Premiership Edition. (which had 2004 lists) different name, so that AFL Live 2005 can be actually AFL 2005 teams.

they should release afl live 2005 before the season with the 05 teams so you can play along.

no point releasing it in october when most games get released cos footy seasons over and we aint in the mood as much

There will never be a great AFL Management game. By that i mean they will never ever compare to a soccer management game as there are just so many more options for a soccer game.

Finances are more in depth for a soccer game for the team sponserships, stadium sponserships, ad space around the stadium, ad space in pamphlets and magazines. Buying players is more in depth as you can actually buy players, loan players, buy youth camps AND trade players or raise young players locallys. You couldnt really make changes to a stadium in an AFL game whereas u could in a soccer one.

The game can be made in depth (by that i mean tactics) similar to soccer management games. Career wise (ie moving from one club to another) could be made similar. Personal life (seen in management games like Total Club Manager 2004 where you can buy houses and stocks n stuff) can be recreated. PR could be included in an A0FL game.

Anyways if anyone wants an AFL Management game to eclipse a soccer one they are dreaming unfortunatley. There just arent enough options.

And don't forget soccer games are sold everywhere around the world so there will be more effort put into a soccer game because it will get more sales whereas AFL games will mainly be sold in Australia and won't sell anywhere near the same amount of soccer games therefore we en up with sh*tty AFL games.

Gee you guys sure have your knickers in a knot. A million threads & discussions have occurred about this and it's the same thing over and over. The problem is AFL will be the hardest game out of all sports to bring to the console - the most players, the biggest field and the fastest play - and the devlopment teams working on it will always be the smallest because the right holder can expect 50,000 units at best, less than a tenth of FIFA sales. It's not hard to do the math.

The EA AFL titles were no better than the Acclaims ones. They were made by a tiny Developer in England who had no real understanding of the game. This is best evidenced through many of the more obscure rules not being included in the game, and the umpire not even making the correct handsignals when making a decision. IR Gurus make the Live series, they are based in Melbourne and at least have a passion for the game. True, the bugs are infuriating but EA's were worse. It was possible to crash AFL 99 on PC simply for changing a player's position! And AFL 99 on Playstation was just a crappy port of AFL 98 on PC.

If EA get the licence back there is no guarantee it will be any better that AFL PE, it will not be a 'FIFA' version of AFL. We have to stop living in fantasy land and accept that all we can hope for each year is a title that is a little bit better than the one that came the year before, if we get one at all. IR are saying that 2005 will be a quantum leap forward, let's just hope that they're right.
