After entering enemy territory and looking at the shockers board, they have a thread regarding the Frockers top 10 moments. (did not think they would barely have 5 :D)

Think I shall pinch the idea and start something here along the same lines just to see others viewpoints on the WCE

Here are mine

1. 1992 Premiership
2. 1994 Premiership
3. Appointment of Malthouse 1989
4. First Final 1988
5. Beating Hawthorn Anzac day 1987
6. First Derby 1995
7. Appointment of Woosha as Captain 1991
8. 12 wins in a row 1991
9. 1990 1st semi vs Melbourne
10. First game and win Vs Richmond 1987

One that springs to mind is the final against the Western Bulldogs in Micks last season with us - i think we won by 5 points when we werent given a chance

Here's a quick list:

1. The last 10 minutes of the 1992 GF when we had it won and the "Eagles" chant started rolling around the ground. The game was out of reach and we had it. There were easily 10 top moments in that day alone. Evams' two quick goals. That Matera goal from the wing. Willo kicking over his head. McIntosh humiliating Brownless. Mainwaring's leap off the bench at the siren. And the celebrations, marred only by Jako's awful, awful singing :D
2. The 1994 GF. More of the above, with extra added Paul Harding goodness. After all the stick he took when trying to join the Eagles in 1987, to see him get a premiership medal was just the best
3. The drawn Collingwood final in 1990 - a game the Eagles were universally tipped to lose, and it looked like it was all over when Daicos kicked that arsey goal in the final quarter and stood up like he was the Messiah or something. That the Eagles came to within a kick of beating the eventual premiers was huge.
4. The final against Melbourne in 1990. Another game the Eagles weren't supposed to win. Muddy Waterman running amok in the forward line
5. The crushing defeat of Essendon at Subi a couple of years back, when we held the Bombers to their lowest score in decades. Lloyd came off a double-digit tally the previous week and was so badly beaten by Milly that he was running around in the backline to get touches. They talk about WCE-Freo rivalry being big. Bah, that's crap - Essendon Must Die :D
6. That final against the Bulldogs in 1999. The passion and excitement was incredible against a team with a fair bit of history with the Eagles. Listened on the radio and the last 20 seconds was just noise, you couldn't work out what had happened. No wonder Mick nearly broke his hand in the coaches' box
7. That Essendon game at the MCG (98?) when Matera ran amok and kicked a bag of goals. Read the other day that that he rates that as his favourite game of all - pretty big comment for a Norm Smith medallist
8. The first game against Richmond. Still got the Record around here somewhere, with Peter Wilson in a Tigers jumper on the front
9. Seeing the Eagles play in their first final before their 2nd birthday. Sure, everyone remembers Wrensted stuffing the match-winning kick, but just to see your team playing in the finals was tops
10. Last but by no means least, that St Kilda game at the WACA in 1990 where we came back from an 8 or 9 goal deficit to win. Our run to the premiership really started that night. Troy Ugle played the game of his life

The trouble is, I'll probably think of 10 more now! :(

My personal onfield (as opposed to objectively what are the best or those off-field events like travelling interstate / after-match functions with fellow Eagles supporters or favourite player farewells) favourites are:

1. 1994 Premiership - I went
2. 1992 Premiership - Steve's Bar and the rest - History
3. 1992 Final against Hawthorn at Subi - the best quality game I've seen ever
4. 1999 Final against the Bulldogs at the MCG - a character win against the odds when we went berserk at the Ponsford Stand end after the game. We knew Mick was going and the players did it for him.
5. 12 wins in a row 1991 - what a run - and robbed in the 13th
6. First game I saw in Melbourne - beat St Kilda by 3 points at Waverly 1993
7. Peter Sumich kicking 13 at the WACA v Footscray
8. 1991 First Final in WA v. Hawthorn, we lost, but history was made
9. Demolition Derby - the First one
10. First Derby I saw live 1999

When you read the Freo thread, you realise how fortunate we are. I could easily do a top 50 from memory, over 100 if we broadened it to off field as I mentioned above.

Ah that was a joy, Lloyd getting held to one goal after 13 the previous week ;) Truly, there is nothing more fun than waving a scarf in Sheedy's ugly mug...didn't Long get his lung punctured in the opening contest of that one?

Two Doggies games come to mind: that one, with Bluey spoiling a contest in their forward 50 in the dying seconds to seal it, but also a game in '97(?) at the WACA where we were 8 goals down at quarter time, level at half time, and no more than 2 goals apart for the rest of the game. Absolute rippers, both of them.

What a beauty. Had to go to work that night (slinging pizzas) speaking in a whisper. Didn't get my voice back until the next day

8. 1991 First Final in WA v. Hawthorn, we lost, but history was made

First AFL final in -ahem- "Eagle City". The game started fairly late, I can remember sitting in the outer at Subi while the sky got darker and darker. Fairly dark day for the Eagles too

Hear hear. I can think of 10 lowlights straight off the top as well, but I'll save that for another thread

Great lists! I dont think I could argue much about any of those great moments in our clubs history. In overall games, one that really stands out for me was the one at the WACA against the Western Bulldogs, where they kicked about 8 goals in the first quarter, then we kicked 8 in the 2nd quarter and it was neck and neck until we won by about a goal.

10. Last but by no means least, that St Kilda game at the WACA in 1990 where we came back from an 8 or 9 goal deficit to win. Our run to the premiership really started that night. Troy Ugle played the game of his life

Was that the game where Ugle had 6 goals kicked on him in a back pocket and then benched, put back on in the second half and then kick 6 from a pocket??
