Ok Im having a debate with a mate (good rhyme) about Leon Davis (past 2 years excluded) He has made his argument that he was the worst player in the league, and obviously im arguing that he is wasn't.... I cant remember a game in at least 5 years where Leon hasnt had an impact on a game, whether it be a cracking goal or a ripping mark....Have always felt that he does something to inspire the pies... I know he had bad GF's in those 2 years, but in 2003 he kicked 31 goals - and over the years has always managed to kick a lot of goals - not a bad effort for a crumbing forward... Looking over his stats over the past 5 years, the stats lean to my argument as I feel for the position he has played (crumbing forward), aren't to bad at all... He has used the lines, we offered him up for trade yada yada yada, when in fact we didnt want to part with him, it was due to problems with Leon at home and he requesting to go home.... failed to have a stat in the GF (To which I argued that he had the lions best tagger on him in Luke Power so obviously the Lions rated him) What is everyone's opinion of Leon post 2008?

I wouldnt say worst player but was EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT in that time, often going missing when the heat was on and kicking goals etc when the result was already decided.

Past two or so years have ben an amazing turnaround

F*&% head once said "He was the worst player in the AFL" but made the point that he wasn't taking into count players who played 50 or less games.

Up until midway through 06 I hated him, couldn't get why they kept picking him, he then played 5 great games and I thought "trade him now". 07 he starte to come good, he moved to the midfield and was still kicking goals but his work-rate picked right up.
Been great for us ever since and I'm glad we kept him.

Was incredibly inconsistent and went missing when he was needed. Now he is a gun. I've always loved his ability but now he is justifying BT's assessment of him (even if it was tongue in cheek) as "the igniter".
