I'm not going to change my prediction. What I said will happen this year will happen next year - finals. If all goes well we would've gotten rid of all the over 30's (Bowden, Brown (trade would be a bonus), Simmonds, Johnson) barring Cousins and possibly Richo, as well as Schulz, Pettifer, McMahon as the definates.

To all those people who want us to trade picks - not yet, we should do that next year or the year after when our raft of 19-23 year olds are close to peaking.

Yeah we're playing the kids but they're still not winning. If we do manage to sneak in we need a few key guys to step up massively next year. Lids, Cotch, Riewoldt and our new draft pick need to have a massive influence. Or either Putt, Gourdis or Steamer need to step up.

Essentially the side against North this week only has Foley, Collins and maybe Richo to return.

Our draft picks had better be guns or another looooooooooong season awaits us.

15th :o (hoping Freo takes the spoon, we will challenge for it though)

if we draft well, and a few players get back to there best in Foley, Moore, Hughes then we are a chance to make the finals

too early. utter rubbish

too early my arse. We have virtualy played a full strength team all year with only Cuz out early then Richo.

Some posters........... correction MOST posters WAY overrate our list of poorly skilled kids and over paid pensioners. We have 21 year olds with the development capacity of TAC cup players:o

So you would have obviously foreseen Essendon's rise up the ladder half way through last year? They've had a similar injury list this year to last year. And I'm guessing you knew St Kilda would be 16-0? And Adelaide was obviously a top 4 team for 2009 half way through 2008, it was so obvious! And in Richmond's case is so plain that no players are going to show any improvement next year, so only having the two oldies out and us still being 14th is quite indicative of where we'll be next year. Completely agree, can't believe how stupid are compared to you, Tommy. :o

Adelaide were sitting top 4 midway through last year.;)

Anyway I generally agree with that.

And seen as a team on the slide with a re-build imminent. Amazing what a change of game plan does to an ageing team. ****ing Wallace and his over-complicated game plan :p

Geelong showed last week how important players missing with injury test your depth. Hawthorn would be well entrenched in the finals now if they were able to keep their key personel out on the park. By comparrison as I allready said we have had a great run with injuries this season. Our in's and out's have been due to skill & performance not injury

I suppose we will just flick the switch next year and launch into the finals with the extra development our players will get over summer?

So which team do you currently think we are likely to be better than next year from the current top eight? Hawks and Port will be certanties to challenge the eight next year. Surely you don't really think our side will develop that much to jump them do you?

I can recall how pumped up our tyres were coming in to rnd 1 this year, 15 weeks later we have played just about our entrie list and managed 3 wins against the current, 12th 13th and 16th.

Next year you will see how how stupid you are mate:p

Cos' I said we'd make finals and all. Look at the likes of Winderlich and Lonergan have improved at Essendon. What's to say Edwards and White or Connors etc mightn't do that next year? Port beat us on the back of Tredrea heroics. He won't do the same next year. We have more kids coming through. Our kids are better. Not sure why you think Port will challenge for the 8. Say Fev gets injured or loses form next year. Then we're every chance to go ahead of Carlton. Same with Lloyd and Fletcher with Essendon. We have used the most players in the AFL this year. Due as much to injury as form. As I said before, did you foresee Essendon pushing for the top 8 at this stage last year? Or St Kilda's dominance? If not, why are you so sure Richmond won't suprise the masses? The likes of Gilbert, Jones, Eddy, Mcqualter, Ray and Dawson were no where near entrenched in the best 25, let alone 22. What's to say Thursfield, McGuane, Post, Edwards, Connors and, for argument's sake, Pattison won't do the same?
