I bought two of these https://www.ebgames.com.au/wii-153525-Spartan-Wii-Remote-Plus-Black-Nintendo-Wii Wii remotes the other week and to be honest was very underwhelmed.

I had numerous issues to the point that I decided to write a review of the product on the EG Games site. It was negative but factual (no "these a fskin crap rabble rabble", I just stuck to reporting the facts of my experience).

Well, fast forward a couple of weeks and my review still isn't listed. I sent their customer service an email to check if there was a problem with my review. The response I get - "We do not have stock of this item, therefore we cannot advertise it".

The item is still listed on their site and still listed as in stock...not to mention all the stock actually in stores....so their response is a bit confusing.

Has anyone written a negative review on this site and had it posted?..just wondering.

If Hitler was alive, and owned a retail video games store, it would be EB Games.
Yeah, I don't shop there very often except to grab some pre-owned games from the bargain bin. I got these because I had family coming over and we wanted to play 5 player Nintendoland on the Wii U and I needed two more remotes at short notice.

I have since bought two used genuine Wii Remotes second hand on eBay and they work a treat!

Interesting you had issues with the Wii remotes. I don't get many back faulty, or have many returned under our 7 day return policy

Did you try returning them and getting your cash back?
I didn't realise that controllers fell under the 7 day policy, I was told no hardware?

I didn't try to return them, stupidly I only tested them pairing once with the console and then shut it down. It was the next day that my family were coming, but not a day that I could get to the shops.

Satisfied that they had paired, I threw all the packaging out, including the receipt which then got all covered with dinner scraps. I'm not sure if you personally would take a return sans receipt (and packaging), but I figured not so didn't bother trying. Regardless, I would have still written the review refund or not.

I should have held onto all of that stuff until after I had actually used them because that is when I had all the issues.

- One of the remotes, overnight, despite not being used at all, had completely drained the batteries.
- They had both lost the sync to the console and just flashed away trying to connect. They both had to be re-paired.
- Even after re-syncing them, the connection dropped out and they appeared dead. Pressing a button wouldn't even make them try to re-sync, the would just do nothing. I had to take the batteries out, put them back in and go through the pairing process again.
- Even after that, one of them refused to pair even though I was standing right next to the console.
- The one that I did get to pair then completely drained its batteries in 90 mins of use. The genuine controllers I have have done way more than that, and the indicator tells me they are still practically full charge.

The above is the gist of the review I wrote, just a list of the actual issues I had with the product.

You'd have to admit that the 'Can't post the review because we have no stock and so can't advertise it' seems a bit like a cop-out when the product is still listed as in-stock on the website, and I can still add it to my cart and presumably complete a purchase...
