If he ran with Kosi, then he stank.

I personally don't see much with Ed.
He ran with Kosi after he kicked 2 goals. Keep him quiet for a lot of the game, and then in the end, when we lost, Kosi kicked a late goal. Was Kosi BOG? He was one of 3 or 4 around the mark, but that wasn't on Allan because he reduced his influence and played well while on him.

Should be our number 1 priority re-signing. Finally showing what he's got now he's getting a chance in his preferred position.

The thing that seems to have clicked for me is that he's now actively breaking tackles and taking players on. That seems to have switched in the last few weeks and shows he finally has the confidence that he belongs at this level.
We need to offer him 3 years at 500K. Its a standard wage for a 23-26 year old.

Allan started on the bench. First 2 goals were when he was head to head with Naicos.

Fly then made the switch and straight away Allan made a difference. Allan looks more comfortable at the centre bounce.

In the offseason he really needs to work on his inside 50m kick when he explodes from the centre bounce. All the kicks are kinda similar. Now that may be party due to the lack of movement and cohesion in our forward line.

Agree, must be signed as a priority.
Should also be a learning lesson for the coaching group, play the players in the position they succeeded at in juniors. They can have a brief start at other positions but eventually they have to play in their natural position.

We waited too long to give him consistent midfield exposure. Think fly is starting to find that out first hand.

In defence of the coaches, he has taken a while to get going. I think his body has taken a while to develop.

Hmmm makes me wonder if Allan can develop after quite a run in he 1s, would others in our VFL team benefit from this?

The guy was never a wingman and anyone who watches the vfl id assume had the same opinion as me, middle or nothing. In defence of the coaches though its hard to move out one the core group when we were contending. They went with long instead but he is getting his shot now and think he plays there the rest of the year.

This is where this season may be a necessary evil for the long term.

I’m more confident in our kids now than I was about 7-8 weeks ago.

I have a feeling next year's and the year after will have to be the same. There are a lot of players who are in the senior side that need to be transitioned out.

Agree
Allan looks a 150 gamer
Hayes should play 200
Steene looked very good
Roan has had a good year
Saxena looks very good
West should be a good player

He grew something like 15cm in one year and had a back injury as a consequence in his draft year.
He would have taken a while to familiarise himself with his new, much taller body.
When we drafted him he was gangly with skinny legs.
He's filling out now.

Harrison looks to be a consistent role player
Anderson after another pre season could be very good
Parker getting better
Swadling is making everyone get happy in the pants.

At the start of the year it was West, McInnes and Harrison as the exciting prospects.

Have you considered that it might have been good development of a kid who wasn't ready?

His tackling today was what I have been waiting for. He appears to be getting more confidence. He should be alright.
Tagging and extra strength now will be the making of him. Good players taking him to the ball and then can use his athleticism to his advantage defensively and offensively

Would love to see the numbers when they were actually on each other Ed 68% game time to kozzie 84% plus wasn't on him when he did all that damage early when he was head to head with Nick.

I don’t understand why some posters think Allan will look elsewhere because he’s been played out of his preferred position in many games or hasn’t been given enough TOG.

He’s being ‘developed’. He will know what’s going on and why. He’s had to work hard to earn his spot and will work hard to keep it. Good on him, as I’ve been a doubter.

Pickett is bloody quick - Ed is one of the few players we have who can run with him.
There was one passage of play where Nick was just about to turn on the jets, then saw it was Pickett chasing him, and got rid of the ball instead.
The time when play was stopped because Pickett was supposedly injured occurred when Ed nailed him.
