Although he has not played yet of course I hope he gets a long run in the seniors in 2005.
I think he is what we need, a small goal scorer to feed off Whitnall in particular.
Look at the impact the Wells, etc have had.
Also, do you think Lance Whitnall will play forward ? I think he is best there.
The only thing about the Blues of 2005 is that there is still not a good full back in the side . I know Thornton is being groomed, but he is too small for that role in my opinion, apart from that we should do well....

If Lance Whitnall can rediscover form the Blues are a lock for the top 8.
otherwise they'll be battling for the last spot or two in the 8, along with 3-4 other teams.
Karl Norman and Thornton are continuing to develop and are both big boys, particularly Norman who is 193cm or so. If Livingston can finally show his potential then the backline is looking better. Its definitely a weak point and a lot will be dependant on how these young guys progess.

Have always felt that Lance is a much better option at CHF. His pace wouldn't allow him to play at CHB. If we can get him back into form, i firmly believe that with both him and Fevola, Carlton could really strive for a top 8 finish.

You then add blokes like DeLuca, Morrell, Lappin, Davies. Longmuir, Scotland, Houlihan, etc, etc, then our forward line starts to look pretty potent.

Eddie will bring some magic to our forward line. Something we have lacked is a player who is capable doing the unpredictable things that leave the opposition second guessing.

Dont be suprised to see Whitnall in a pocket or on a HFF with Waite as CHF. Waite will bring the strong physical presence to our forward line missing since Hammils departure. With Fev, Whits, Waite, Deluca, Lappin or Houla(not both) and Betts/Longmuir we will be pretty hard to match up on if the midfield delivery improves. Chambers will hopefully be a good addition with his pace.

Abaddon I agree but I really think Kouta will have a bigger impact. His overall leadership and the fact he rarely plays a poor game when fit should assist with the development with our youngsters. We now have three players in koutas mould. Prenda a natural athlete who will give 110% and continues to improve, Waite who is a natural footballer but needs to curb his agression so it is directed at the football and not players and 1AW who will be a star.

The biggest problem we face is our defence and hopefully Livo comes good this year allowing TBird to go to CHB. We have to allow this kid time to develop so heres hoping no more interupted preseasons.

I expect us to improve again this year purely because players must now compete for spots in this side. We have recuited well given then penalties and our kids are beginning to find self belief.

Finally bring on Setanta. He is going to provide nightmares for oppositions teams a player with an onballers endurance and pace in a Ruckmans large frame.

i think that lance should play in the forward line an di know that if luke livingston is good enough to hold down FB and thornton gets moved up to CHB then in a couple of years we will have a all australian CHB
