He is and always has been a hypocritical tosser

The fact that Fev copped a one game ban for poor body language and a lack of discipline a few days after makes it even worse.

It seems as if it's alright for Magpie players (high profile one's at least) to get maggoted at strip joints and then head off to a bikie bar with a soon to be convicted killer and let off a few rounds of the ol' shotgun on the way back to the CBD, shortly before getting on a plane for a special training session. Oh yeah, and then keeping it quiet for a week or two before it's splashed all over the papers.

And what does one get for this, a cerfew and a few months off the turps (don't tell me that he won't get blotto at the end of the season). This rates up there with Tarrant & Johnson getting off for belting some bloke and Brodie and his misses beating up another girl, all scott free. Yet 3 young players nip out to the shop and get back past their bedtime and they cop a week! Maybe they should've gone to the strippers and bashed a chick for stealing their taxi, that way the would've avoided a penalty all together.

Soft as butter Ed. No matter how much you raise your voice and put on the serious face, everyone knows that you've woosed it on this one.

Can anyone confirm he was in the car at the time of the shootings? I'm pretty sure I read it in the Herald Sun the other day he was, but then in the press conference Pert said they couldnt confirm or deny that. That is the most important point isnt it? That and how long he actually had known Hudson for.

Anyway, it's all very suss. And he got off very lightly, imo.

(Don't care though what Collingwood do. I care what Geelong does, and the suspension for Johnson did him wonders. :thumbsu:)

Everyone knows Eddie is a hypocrite

Wasn't Dog out injured and The Chest in the VFL at the time ?

In his defence, that was Eddie employee of the Nine Network, not Eddie the Collingwood President.

One labels the press "bullies".

The other employed Craig Hutchison and signed his travellers cheques to LA.

He's done an excellent job controlling his conflicts of interest. You'd never think they were the same person.

"Really appreciate you talking to us Eddie"
"Thanks for coming on the show, Eddie"
"Yeah, Eddie, good of you to make the time"
"We love you Eddie" -3AW, Saturday's pre-match.

I think it's disappointing, and seriously let's some players know who are favourites and will be "looked after" and who they really don't rate at all.

Didn't we see a few players suspended for something ALMOST similar during an interstate trip ?

They're opening a can of worms by not taking the hardline now. IMHO it tells players that if they are close to securing a spot in finals, they can get away with just about anything.

They can always say they are backing their player, but if rules are broken, penalties should apply. And younger players need to be shown the right example.

Even the SA U18s are harsher on the players than collingwood

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,22014791-21546,00.html

4 players omitted from state team for drinking and breaking team rules.
If they were borderline draftees who needed to perform at the U18 comp then they have cost themselves not just a few games off but possibly a career. Even now it would be hard for them to be drafted considering this now being on their record!!

I was pretty happy with Eddie's and Collingwood's reaction.

It just goes to show that they really aren't prepared to take the hard decisions needed to be the best.

They will never be celebrating in September while they keep this up.
