Will be interesting to see where he ends up.You're welcome.
He's actually only medium paced, and his skills are good, not great.
He certainly has a 6th sense of where the ball is and looks like a decent midfielder (already has the tank for it).
Anyone who is that skinny who can play more than 10 games in their first year is going to be something special.
Play him in the forward pocket with a license to roam where ever he wants , he is great at the stopages and he attacks the forward line so well. He'd be a great loose man across the centre.I'd like to see Edwards & Connors in each back pocket they don't take a backward step which we lack at the moment. It's been a good draft but we do lack players with a little c**t in them.

At the moment, his body is so light, he's really only any use to us in a forward pocket as a crumbing goalsneak.
Hopefully he develops a bigger body and a bigger engine and can push into the midfield. His evasive skills are very good. He has lightning speed. He also has that 6th sense that a lot of players don't possess.
I feel it will be a long road for him. We shouldn't expect him to be getting 25 possessions a week for at least three years.
He has the X-factor though. And the good thing about him is that 8 possessions from him will almost always be 8 good things that will eventuate.
No he doesn't.This is one attribute that Edwards naturally has in abundance. He has a massive engine. His endurance will be elite. He can run all day.
GO TIGES!!!
No he doesn't.
He's a spindly little kid for ****'s sake.
What makes you think he an elite endurance ahlete?
You all expect too much from our kids. he won't even begin to make a blip on the radar until he's in his early 20s. Until then he will chip with cameos, just like he in 2007. Each year for the next three or so years, the cameos will become supporting-actor roles and then when he's 22, bang, he gets the lead role.
But how you can say he has a massive motor when all he's done is play a quarter here and a quarter there is completely beyond me.
I know what you mean and also know what tigertrance is trying to say, but the fact is, his motor now is nothing like it will be in three or four years time, when he grows into his body and the pre-seasons get him stronger.he does tugga, his aerobic capacity and will to go from contest to contest to contest to contest was legendary before he was drafted. Training at the elite level would have only improved on this. Hes robert harvey-esque with his ability to push himself from contest to contest without a break, which is also the reason why his kicks are sometimes shoddy, doesnt give himself a chance to recuperate. He'll learn and once he does he'll be one of our best midfielders
Yes, but beep tests and tan runs just don't cut it when the ball is bounced and the game starts.he won the beep test at the draft last year so i think that says a bit about his endurance dont ya think?
he just needs to get a bit bigger before he can play an inside mid role (which i think he will), until then we'll see him in the fp in 08 mostly

Which is what I've been saying all along. There is no kid with an AFL engine. They run 7-10km in a junior match, that doesn't match Barry Hall let alone the elite mids who nudge 18-19km a game.
It takes multiple preseasons to build those stamina levels.
We have seen it before our eyes with Foley and how every season he has gotten better and gotten to more contests. Edwards will be the same.
He is an elite runner compared to his age-group, but not in AFL terms - yet.

I just have one queery about him and that is does everyone think he has the potential to be a quality midfielder/rover or more of a half foward flanker/winger type?
