Toast Effort

Although disappointed we didn't get the full result tonight, I'd like to toast the boys on their effort throughout the match.

Many occasions they could have dropped their heads:
* Reiwoldt going off
* Losing the lead late
* Umpiring decisions gifting goals
* Saints jumping out of the gate early

Although we're still a young team, I can sense that this is a very different outfit than what we're used to over the past 10 years.

Hardwick & Co doing a good job thus far rebuilding the respect of the team... they just need to perform like this on a consistent basis for that respect to remain... need a similar effort next week against the Hawks.

The cubs are showing some glimpses of what's to come... I like it

That McGuane decision is the exact kind of moment in those kind of games where our heads drop and our oppoenents usually kick 3 or 4 in a row to close it out. They got another quick one but then the boys regained composure. Was definitely a positive.

Tonight's effort reminded me of '94 when we started to push the better sides and knocked off a couple. As long as we don't end up recruiting Paul Hudson down the track.

That's the sort of effort you'd love to see every week.

Positive sign is that it's becoming more frequent, seeing that level of effort.
