What did you's guys think about what Chris Egan did on the w/e after he kicked that goal.. I beleive he flipped the bird

This coming from a third game player is not too good, but atleast it shows he was passionate about the game as i can not say for some of our other players

He was fined 900$ for it.. The kid looks the goods atleast

Its not good, its GREAT!!!

I'm not condoning what he did but we need players with passion, attitude, ego, arrogance and confidence. This kid has all that in spades.

An even better report about Egan is that apparently it was his idea to pull himself, Trav, Davies and Fanning into the middle of the circle for the song, to celebrate their first win together.

A kid with this match passion, team spirit and talent can only be a good thing.

Add that to Trav's willingness to get into it for a teammate (with Cam last week, and as if that may have been because it was his brother, helping out Didak this week), we're bringing in some guys with real passion for the game.

If Rusling turns into half the player the reports say he can be, this draft will be a home run.

first off, dont condone it, not one bit. secondly, HOW GOOD IS THAT to see the passion. like everyone else is saying, its good to see that not only can the kid play, he is alright in a physical sense, but no matter how warped an example it is, he seems to be alright in a mental sense too. being able to play is only half the story. with him, trav, davo (i still think he will make it), yak, maybe even a rusling and a cam cloke, i think we will get good service out of the current crop of kids

he just sealed the game derro you fool, the 16th placed team has beaten top, we have been given no chance of winning the game, and he has run in and sealed it, put icing on the cake

of course he would be loving every minute of it, no one would begrudge him that

future looks very bright for this kid

absolutely loved it. Ego is a gun, and he brings excitement to the club. Kids like this energize the club. As long as he doesn't ever lose it on the field i.e. fevola, or off the field i.e. fevola, then their is no reason not to be happy with his flair.

I found Egan's gesture to be extremely offensive and I certainly don't condone in any way shape or form. But the fact he gave it to the Eagles cheersquad makes all right in my book. He was also letting them know it takes 3 hours to get here from Perth and 1 extra hour to get back!!

I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more sniping about this from Big Footy's anti-Collingwood mob. It's the sort of thing that attracts attention.

I don't think I can condone it, even though it shows huge spirit. But...remember when Kane Cornes flipped the bird during that close game in Adelaide a couple of years ago? Remember how much that annoyed us? I know Cornes' was directed at our players and is a slightly different situation, but I think we need to remember what our response would be if that was done to our players/supporters.
Enjoy it now - but don't whinge next time.

Actually the goal where he flipped the bird was his first goal of the final term, the one where umpire nicebounce had a goal assist. Icing on the cake was Tazza's clearance, brilliant pick up by Trav and the handball off for the game-sealer.

I have to admit I also like this kids enthusiasm and passion, however get the cred before playing up like that. I don't like seeing opposition players make that kind of gesture towards us so I don't appreciate our players firing at other supporters like that either ..
