Anybody being playing it? I've played it for about 4 hours so far. I'm not usually one to be too concerned about graphics, but they are amazing! I'm running it at 1680x1050 max details (opteron 165 @ 2600 + X1900XT) and it looks fantastic. I'm playing it on hard and its pretty challenging. Anybody else playing it, or are able to break away from the game to talk about it here?

I've played Oblivion for 8 hours so far. Mostly just doing misc quests in Chorrol and Cheydinhal.

I'm running the game on my xbox 360, through the plasma tv with 1080i HD. :thumbsu: I must say, it's the best game I've seen for graphics. Not just because of it's high polygon renderings, but also the mapping, animation, and draw-dinstance. In that regard it probably gets an A+ for both graphics and optimation. It's nearly flawless.

Top game too. Love the dialog and lip-syncing on every NPC. The AI is great as well. I walked outside of Chorrol's south gate last night to see a town guard kill a dude I've never seen before. I had no idea what that conflict was about, but I just love random crap like that. :p

Countless hours of fun is Oblivion. I've only just scratched the surface.

Agreed - played for about 5 hours last night, just fugging around bofore I got pasted by some bastard zombies.

Sadly, i'm not playing on a big arse plasma, but the urge to upgrade my old POS CRT is growing.......

I love how challenging it is. I'm playing on hardest, and its damn hard. Mind you I'm using those red robes you get at the start of the game (I'm a thief acrobat Dark Elf). I've just been running around the mountains in the North-West getting chased by wolves. Can't wait to get rid of my steel shortsword...

Load times for areas is amazing too...

I'm trying to work up the courage to kill an innocent so I can join the Dark Brotherhood.

I've had it with these boy scout quests.

God dammit, knowing how good elder scrolls was and hearing how good oblivion is makes me want to buy a 360 just for that. Pity all the other good games are on ps2 and ps3.

I got my arse handed to me last night by some f%^%king undead whilst trying to join the mages guild; got a bit ahead of myself i feel. Need to kick some more generic ass and level up a bit.

I've just been running around the mountains in the North-West getting chased by wolves. Can't wait to get rid of my steel shortsword...

What the f&^%^ is up with the god-damned wolves? Those is some angry doggies.

I keep getting arrested for stealing LMAO !!!! one of these days I'm going to resist arrest and give the guard a flogging !!!

Yeah, i got done for stealing too. Its really easy to do it accidentaly (i swear orificer) when in 3rd person....

Oblivion is just a cracking game. Sitting here at work just itching to get back at those funking zombie biatches. :D

I was soo enjoying GRAW, but i think the O will be leeching most of my near future time.....

I didn't even steal anything and I got busted for it. I just threw a plate onto the ground, and a guard wanted to arrest me. :o

for someone who has not the faintest clue of what elder scrolls is...is it worth buying?

ive never played any of the previous games before in my life, even though i've heard good reviews.

for someone in my situation is it worth buying? (PC) or would playing it with no previous knowledge of the who universe type thing just be 2 frustrating and hard...?

The game certainly looks the goods...

Will be getting it soon

Found this Imp cave last night, was using Cold Touch on them and slaying the buggers, have about a dozen Imp Gall's which I will sell back in town :D

LOL @ me heading out in the woods at 2:30 am and then packing my dacks when a Giant Rat comes out of nowhere and starts attacking me.

weren't you the guy whingeing about world of warcraft.

if so you'd best move along, because oblivion is not for you.

i think the non-stop action of space invaders or tetris is more your style. :)

I played DaggerFall back when i was about 15,16 and loved that game so much i was dragging it back out of the closet years later to play, then there was Morrowind which also got a massive workout for another good year.

Is it my destiny to get this game? i know i would love it and i know i would lose sleep playing it.

The question is this right now i have a cruddy pc well not crud just not good enough for Oblivion.

Do i buy a 360 or do i spend the cash to get a new Vid Card and processor for my pc

Decisions decisions and how much better would it be on pc?

Whats the funniest moment you guys have experienced in the game?

Mine was when I set up a goblin with his own trip wire, he came running up at me so I jump back over the trip wire and stood back only to see a dozen logs come from nowhere and clean the ugly bugger up.

:D

Nothing really funny has happened in my game. Although, I have experienced the infamous 'fragmented cache' which causes the game to load 1000 times slower.

It's fixed now though.

i didnt mind WoW but just didnt think it justified its price for the amount that I would have played it. I just found it a bit dull but I suppose that online is a lot different to offline.

so, would someone please be able to answer my question. Basically, does it matter much if you have or have not played previous elder scrolls games

You don't need to have played the other Elder Scrolls games to understand Oblivion. Every Elder Scrolls game has a completely different story in a different environment.

Morrowind was awesome and now i cant wait to get my hands on this one but i might not be able to get my uni work done so it could be in my best interests if i hold off this game for now....

I don't like WoW either. Everybody has their opinions. But think non-linear, and thats Oblivion. I think Morrowind was too non-linear (moreso than Obliv) which wasn't a good thing. I think having a completely open-ended game can ruin it. You have to have at least minimum direction in a game...

...and apparantly, the most tempting of fate.

I am now a ferking vampire. Not only must i save the world from a deamon overlord and rescue the dead Emporer's misbegotten son, i have to do it only at night.

I beleive the phrase rhymes with "clucking bell".
