Good morning all,

I'm in the market for a new electric shaver. I've previously been using a Remington MicroScreen 3 (not too great a product in hindsight) and want to upgrade but don't really wish to spend more than $150-$200 tops.

Any suggestions?

The MicroScreen 3 was alright at first but quickly found the foils break up too often and leave nasty cuts if you're not very, very careful. This leads to a replacement cost for the foils of about $20-$30 per time (I reckon I've replaced them at least 3-4 times a year for 2-3 years).

Thanks in advance! :thumbsu:

Used to use that one as well, had it for 5 years before it finally conked out recently. I used to replace the foils & cutters every 6 months at around $50 a throw.

Now using a Remington MS5700PG Titanium MicroScreen which cost $150. I personally like it, the only thing I would warn about is to be careful when charging it. Mine cooked itself on the 2nd charge, might just have been a faulty one though. Got it replaced though & the new one works fine.

I prefer good ole fashioned way with shaving cream. Much closer shave...

True, but it leaves you a lot of cuts in your face which i don't like, that's why i use both the electric and the razor blades with cream. I use the electric every day and then use the razor blades about twice per week just to get the cleaner shave.

Unless your shaver is rusty, has a jagged edge or you've only started shaving I don't know how you could cut yourself.

Well i dont know how you shave but i very rarely cut myself shaving. Out of interest how long do you guys keep the razor blades in your shavers? Like the Mach 3 Turbo, not the electric ones.

I usually change mine once a week.

I'd like to know how long since Korn has changed his blades, or if he's changed them at all if keeps cutting himself.

I cut myself last Friday, although i was half way gone, and was trying to get ready in about 12 minutes flat (including a shower) anywhoo turned out the cut made me look hotter.....

awwww poor spelly. I've never really had that much acne, I had a bad batch in year 8 or 9, but since then have been been pimple free.

:D

Year 8 and 9 was when I had it the worst, but it's really only now a couple of dents. A fair few scars on the shoulders though.

I still get pimples on my shoulders, and my neck.
