Tivendale and A. Kellaway are the best two from Richmond.

Can't think of many from other teams though, Sandilands from Freo is the only one that sticks in my mind.

A.Kellaway was drafted, he was pre-rookie list system. Tivendale is the only success story at Richmond.

Around the league - Mal Michael, James MacDonald, Tarkyn Lockyer, Mark Johnson, Peter Walsh, Chad Fletcher, Mathew Bishop, Trent Knobel, Dean Rioli, Kent Kingsley, Brett Kirk, Trent Knobel, Dean Cox, Dean Brogan, Robert Copeland, Michael Osborne, Damien Peverill, David Teague, Roger Hayden, Aaron Sandilands, Digby Morrell would be the leading contenders.

A. Kellaway = Supp list??

Supp list = basically rookie list??

When they cut the lists there was going to be a problem with clubs not having enough players to field a reserve side.

They introduced the supplementary list which was basically a group of top-up players who were actually VFA/VAFA players who could be called up to make up the numbers. Andy Kellaway was a Sandringham player for example.

The AFL clubs had no rights over these players. Basically they trained with the club and got reserve match payments. If they weren't needed on the weekend they went back to their real clubs.

With the exception of one year, to recruit these guys onto an AFL list you had to draft them just like any other player. Essentially they are the same as guys like Pagan, Talbot, Carlson and co and Coburg who have no offical tie to Richmond and would have to be drafted.
