Throughout all of my years of work, I've seen some things that beggar belief. Such monumentally stupid decisions that invading Russia in the winter seems clever. And I'm sure I'm not alone. Who among us has not been at work and shaken their head slowly, taken a deep breath and sighed? Please vent your frustrations here.
Dear Computer Systems Designers:
If you put a function in that says, export to Excel, don't make the report look exactly the same in Excel, because then it's useless. We'll end up having to type it out because the format will be all over the place. Make it into a csv file or something.
regards,
Every ****ing Accountant In The World.
Currently using an external business for rostering for our business. Whilst they can send out rosters, they can't send out data files of those rosters. If I want to calculate something, *begin typing*. Yesterday the HR Manager rings me up, says our external guy hasn't delivered her reports yet, because my reports are holding up the system. Yes, the reports I asked for two months ago, that our liaison keeps dodging me to deliver, so he must have actually got around to reading my latest email asking where they are (since he won't return my calls) - except, he said they'd be easy to produce. Except now their system can't handle it. I mean FFS there must be some sort of relational database in there somewhere, copy and paste the ****ing thing into Excel. Morons.
