Energy Drinks

What are we all drinking?

I almost exclusively drink Red Bull but it's hit and miss between products. I don't drink the sugar versions, only the zero sugar. The White coconut version is the best, the new Grape version is also good. Unfortunately a lot of the other ones don't really taste great.

I don't drink sugary drinks anymore but I find most of the energy drinks particularly ones like Monster, Mother, Kamikaze, and Musashi are way too sweet. I don't get it. Why make a non sugar drink so sweet when people wo don't drink sugar are going to be desensitized to the sweetness. I find all of the aforementioned impossible to finish.

I used to like the low sugar Shine drinks but their zero sugar drinks are lacking. Does anyone know of energy drinks with low sugar, or non sugar drinks that aren't overly intense in sweetness.

Unfortunately that doesn't really help me with shift work otherwise I'd agree.

Maybe I could try a home made iced coffee this week. Not sure how it will go without milk

Mind you I worked with someone who nearly destroyed their liver via too much caffeine
I got caught out 4 years ago because I ranaway with my caffein intake and had an irregular heartbeat, but I realized my intake was over 1000mg over 24 hours. I never go over 320, so 2 cans in any 24 hour period.

Also don't drink within 8 hours of sleep and it's helped my sleep.

I tend to make 2-3 coffees in the morning and then that's it

I don't do caffeine after lunch on a school night

During uni days it was Jolt Cola or Red Eye
Jolt was awesome but only for one drink at a time because it left too much residue. I wouldn't be able to drink that stuff now.

Crazy, I start to feel the full effects around the 350 mark.

I try to steer away from energy drinks but the most recent one I tried was that Lando Norris edition Monster. It was ok.

Like others in this thread I tend towards coffee if I need caffeine, but I'm trying to limit that as well! I've quit coffee cold turkey a few times throughout my life when I've notice my intake go up and my tolerance get a bit too concerning.

Since having kids tho, I've given up on ever feeling "not tired" 🤷‍♂️

I’ve gone from 5-6 coffees a day to pretty much 1 sometimes 2 now.

I can drink coffee all day with no issues, and then when I want to stop I'll stop

I've also found it doesn't matter what time of day I'm drinking coffee, it doesn't impact my sleeping patterns

I'm on night shift tonight but I won't be drinking anything until right before shift.

Same.

I must have gotten it from my parents who would have a black coffee late at night after tea and everything, like 9:30 - 10:00, then dad would probably be asleep by 11ish and mum not long after. They'd be up at 7ish with no issues and in to a morning coffee. Then probably a morning tea coffee, a late afternoon coffee, and a night time coffee.

It never phased them at all.

I usually have one coffee in the morning and that's it. It's a proper coffee made with a double espresso shot but that's probably 100-200 mg of caffeine. Might have a Pepsi Max or similar in the afternoon and they are only 40 mg. If I have a couple of strong coffees I'll feel anxious. Have had after dinner coffee before but only to counteract a few red wines. Would never have a coffee or a Coke etc. after dinner on a school night.

Guess it affects everyone differently but on a couple of occasions I've had a few Red Bull and vodkas or rum and Cokes on a night out and whether it's the sugar or the caffeine but I was bouncing off the walls.
