With the EPL season just about to start, didn't see a thread so I thought I'd make one. One of the tactics I like doing is doing a multi with a few draws at half time, if you can nail it, it pays off well, just nerve racking to watch, especially near injury time

Looking like a lean night for me at the moment, a couple of League one bets may go alright but the EPL stuff, nope. I always say I won't bet first round of any competition, but I always do lol

I had Wigan and Man City to win in a multi but 2 AFL results didn't go my way

Probly take a Sydney FC/Liverpool double with Freo today.

I had Sunderland at 3.25 to beat Bolton and West Ham at 2.80 to beat Wolves. Both got up which is nice. For tonight I recommend

Man United/Birmingham u2.5 goals at 2.20 - Brum will park the bus big time and Man United wil struggle to adjust early on. Think they will win but just scrape in. If your extra game the 17 bucks on offer for a 0-0 is tasty. As a defensive unit Birmingham really are quite decent with Joe Hart in goal and Roger Johnson in the heart of the defence nowadays with Carsley as the DCM. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. My bet of the week personally

Tottenham vs Liverpool - Wouldnt touch with a ten foot clown pole but if you must id suggest Peter Crouch first goal scorer at 8.50. Looking a bit weak on in the centre of defence and with Rafa crazy zone defence a headed goal is the best bet for a Tottenham score. Not much better than Crouch in that department.

I reckon both games tonight should be over 2.5 goals.

Man United werent a high scoring team with Ronaldo and Tevez. Cant see them changing there ways without them. Birmingham have spent 10+ mill revamping there defence and I think it can withstand the barrage. Shouldnt concede more then 2 and I dont think they will score one or even see the goals.

Sorry mate, I don't know where to begin with how wrong you are there.

Sir Alex is the manager, not George Graham.

For years prior to the little Portuguese whinger we played a rigid, very high-scoring 4-4-2 system. Now with the departure of he & Tevez*, Fergie will be returning the team's formation to something similar, allowing Rooney to partner Berbatov up front rather than playing out wide.

It may take a little time to gel, but domestically I can see them increasing their scoring output from last year. Europe might suffer because of this though.

*Not a goalscorer.

last night... had almost the best multi landed..

Legs;
Celtic H2H (3-1)
Bris +32 (at HT)
Geelong Under (at HT)
Sunderland 1-0
Fulham 1-0
Bayern Munich H2H

bayern skrewed me up big time !! ribery offside by 20 cm cost me $1300 :( off $5

yeah it hurt. will be fixed if united win tho

have

ess by 1-2 points into man united

$3 on it for $233 return... Please United

Good get. Although they made tougher work of it than they needed to. Shits me when crap teams come to OT and park the bus in our box but jeez, on another day when the ball bounces our way that's a 5-0 win.

United shit me, over-posses in the box.. need to shoot earlier.. Lucky to win, unlucky to lose.. game deserved a draw TBH.

Liverpool to win tonight. Harrys named a shite team and Liverpools injury worries have got up. 2.05 and decreasing by the second

Should put that * next to Berbatov too.. and Owen. Rooney will have to score 25+ to improve scoring output. By playin 4-4-2 Alex is going more defensive. Signed a defensive minded RW in Antonio Valencia for that reason. Alot of low scoring games for Man U this year IMO esp. when teams park the bus

Your on crack. 3 chances in 90 mins. Must be relying on 2 own goals I dont know about

---------------Manchester United---Birmingham
Shots (on Goal)-----30(11)--------- 7(2)
Corners------------ 13 ------------- 2
Time of Possession--63%------------ 37%
Saves-------------- 2-------------- 10

Yeah I'm the one on crack.

11 shots on goal. 5 of which came from distance and were palmed down by Hart. 2 of those came from the goal itself which leaves 4 more. One was cleared of the line but Brum had one cleared of the line too so that cancels each other out. 2 were tipped over the bar by Hart in relatively routine saves. The other one was just a good save IIRC.

Stats are meaningless in soccer. If your gonna put your money down based on stats your gonna lose. Man United at most deserved to win that game 2-0 but 1-0 was a fair result in the end

Tomato/tomato (that doesn't work as well when it's typed :D ).

Two of Rooney's long range shots were more than simply 'palmed down by Hart', they were top-shelf saves to deny what would have been certain goals. On another day - as was my earlier point - those shots may not get saved, and the score would look more flattering to United.

Fletcher & Owen really should have put their relatively easy shots away, Berbatov should have been a penalty and as you said, there was one cleared off the line. That counts for five easily in my book.

Look, it could have easily been 3-1 their way by that logic too given three solid Blues chances, and shit on the stats all you want, but a 63% possession rate is pretty nuts, which was consistent with some of the wave after wave-like attacking United did at times.

But the punting board isn't the place to discuss this, and we're all friends here so I'll let you have the final word should you choose.
