Etihad help

My wife's going to Melbourne for the Run Melbourne, so I had a look at AFL games on and am thinking of venturing to the St Kilda vs West Coast game at Etihad. Never been to Etihad before so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/tips for venturing there. We're going to be staying at the other end of the CBD at the Windsor.

From my memory of where the Hotel Windsor is, easiest way would be to go to Parliament station which is just outside the hotel, jump on any train that goes to Southern Cross (city loop train). From there it's a short walk.

The City Circle (maroon tram-and free) stops in front of Windsor Hotel and goes around the city, stopping at Etihad....or catch a normal tram a few yards from hotel, goes down Bourke St. to Etihad..

Ist option is best though..

The 2k walk will warm you up. Could also make you drowsy, though, and with St Kilda playing...

Can't remember exactly where we went but there are loads of eateries (and drinkeries ) here - Etihad is just off the right of screen. IIRC even though the area was fairly lively after the game, it wasn't full of loud footy idiots so should be OK for the missus too!

As for seating, I've no idea. I sat down near the front in the Lockett end to see Brown put on a masterclass in a 2-goal win vs. Carlton there in 2007 and the view was OK.
