Am hoping mid 2021 I can do my 2020 cancelled trip through Northen Europe, anyone think thats realistic or are we likely looking 2022 if I want to go during their summer?
Well at best now it will be mid 2023, but likely wont be able to go until a few years later due to money, and the original trip included a week in St Petersburg in Russia. Don't see that happening now.

Thinking next year I'll be back in Europe at some stage.

Croatia and Hungary with some Germany, Prague and Spain.

Also jumping on the 2023 mid year trip. Haven’t been since 2014 so really looking forward to not just seeing the inside of a bar 😅

Spain, Portugal and Italy will probably be the main focus.

I'm heading to UK, France and Netherlands on 15 December. Not my choice of time to go (important birthday gathering). Short days, cold weather etc will make it interesting. As long as it doesn't rain every day.

I did Christmas in NY in 2017, and that was surreal. Little to no rain, snow on 26 December and the City actually was alive on Christmas Day. Went to Bemelman's Jazz Bar on E 76th St at 9.00pm on Christmas night and the place was pumping. It was like stepping back into a 1930's jazz club.

I've never been game enough to leave Aussie summer to go to a winter holiday, but yeh if I was going to do it, New York gets high praise.

I was also there in Christmas 17 until Jan 2nd.

Walking through the falling snow in Central Park was magical.

Snow is great when it falls, but doesn't take long in the city streets for the snow, salt and grime to turn the streets into dirty sludge!!

Yeah that is awesome mate

When I was there roughly 18th Dec - 29th Dec it was just cold, windy and miserable without snow.

Hardly as nice as yours!
The 27th was the coldest day I have ever experienced.

It was -9, felt like -14 or something. The wind cut right through me and it felt like I had no pants on it was that cold.

We landed the 25th and left on the 2nd. No rain and sunny every day, snow day aside. Just magical, a day I will never forget.

The week before I got to NY I was in Toronto and Niagara for 4 or 5 days. The coldness there is like nothing I have felt before. The wind off the great lakes had my legs burning that they were that cold

Portugal was a little disappointing, for me; but I spent 2 weeks there, so probably over the top.

Faro was boring, Southern Beaches nice, but nothing amazing.

Lisbon great, Porto fantastic.

Montenegro worth a visit, if you've got time.

Arrived in Geneva today after 3 weeks in SEA. We were 3hrs late leaving Abu Dhabi but plenty of worse places to waste away the time than the Etihad First Class lounge at Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately just a shortish stay here to catch up with a friend before heading to the UK for a week visiting rellies before heading to the UAE for just over 2 weeks

First class? :flushed:

Business class redemptions with Virgin Australia points. Geneva is one of the Etihad routes that still has first but no availability when I booked. We have travelled on Etihad First before but the 787 offering isn’t a huge step up from Business class
Virgin Australia Platinum members get access to the First Class lounge in Abu Dhabi regardless of class of ticket thanks to to the alliance, it’s a nice perk
