Departed GWS defender Josh Fahey has landed in the SANFL for the 2026 season, signing with Central District following his AFL exit.

The defensive flanker is now set to pull on the red, white and blue at Central District, joining the SANFL side following their finals finish to 2025.

"Josh has speed, evasiveness, and a silky left foot which he uses to break the game open," Dogs football manager Mark Ross said.

Carlton has added Richmond premiership player Jacob Townsend as a development coach in 2026. "There's a great energy around Carlton with a strong desire to improve, and I can't wait to get started."

SAM FROST has returned to Hawthorn on Saturday morning to announce his retirement in front of his former teammates at the Kennedy Community Centre.

Frost addressed the players at the Hawks' new training base in Dingley ahead of one the club's final sessions of 2025.
The 32-year-old was delisted at the end of September after making 94 appearances across six seasons with Hawthorn, following 70 games for Melbourne and 21 for Greater Western Sydney. Frost explored playing for a fourth club across October and November – 12 months after Sydney offered him the chance to move back to play in New South Wales – but is now content to move on with the next phase of his life.

Frost expressed his gratitude to Greater Western Sydney for taking a chance on him as a rookie at the end of 2011 and for Hawthorn helping him become a family man later in his career. "I'd like to thank the Greater Western Sydney Football Club, the Melbourne Football Club and the Hawthorn Football Club for affording me the opportunity to live out a childhood dream of playing AFL football," Frost told AFL.com.au.

"After 14 years and 185 game I've had incredible highs and shattering lows and will retire with no regrets, only gratitude for the experiences I have had and the people who have helped shape them. I look forward to discovering what's next for my family and I."

Sydney Swans veteran Taylor Adams was taken to hospital after being knocked out in an incident on Saturday night at a popular eastern suburbs hotspot. The incident occurred at Club Rose Bay, which has reopened over the summer after being revamped by Justin Hemmes’ Merivale group. Adams was punched in the face with significant force that he hit the ground and was subsequently taken to St Vincent’s hospital in an ambulance.

Stevie J still making an unorthodox impact!

Dale Thomas, Joe Montagna and Nathan Brown have evacuated a commentary box at the MCG after Geelong great Steve Johnson went rogue live on air.

The star-studded commentary quartet were previewing Sunday’s clash where the Demons caused an upset over the Suns.

However, the popular Sunday Rub show went off the rails when Johnson appeared to drop his guts in two different segments.

In footage shared by Triple M Footy on social media, Thomas was seen in open disgust as Johnson let rip for a second time.

Suns assistant coach Shaun Grigg was being interviewed when Thomas, Montagna and Brown appeared to be shocked by a smell inside their commentary box.
