Overall i wasnt too bothered by todays game. The free kick rulings were absolutely atrocious against the hawks. But i dont think we reacted well to that. A few players that got found out in that game were osborne, guerra, young, croad (was underdone), boyle. I wouldnt be surprised if there were a few changes for this weeks game. But overall i didnt think it was too bad. I knew the swans were going to come hard. Its better that our flaws are found out now, rather than a week from finals. Coming up to the split round it gives us something to work on. Weve shown we can match it with the top teams. Our decision making and reaction to pressure are what cost us in the end, however with more experience i believe we will get better at coping with the bigger occasions. They dont get subjected to it very often, and will learn. Today just proved we still have a long way to go, our rucks got completely dominated today, and taylor and campbell show they have flaws that they need to address, such as accountability, composure and disclipline in the ruck. While our mids werent as clean as they needed to be. Our forwards also didnt present as well as would have been liked. Hopefully a nice open game against carlton this week will bring out the run that we are capable of. Only a nine point loss, nothing to worry about. Good reality check, preview of the finals gameplay needed to win.
