Not directly. You will have to send them to an email client first like Outlook, Outlook Express or Pegasus mail and have a third party software package to convert them.

Personally, I use Thunderbird and just save the messages I want to text files.

Yes you can use Thunderbird to act as your email client with gmail. It then is stored on your PC.
