3 of us at work were buying coffees every day, so we all chipped in and bought an espresso machine for the lunch room. Paid itself off in a matter of months. :thumbsu:

Now that is an example of a good investment - the initial outlay may seem a lot but pays for itself in no time.

work full time, budget your money. 200-300 bucks on drinks for the night, you nuts? drink before you go out, get drunk then only have 5-6 more drinks when you head out around midnight. Even at 6am when I'm hammered, have a yiros in hand & have caught a cab home there is no way I've spent $300

Failing that, ebay.

Did the same thing with a hard drive and selling my DVD collection on ebay. Paid for itself almost instantly :thumbsu:

EDIT: In reply to the 'initial outlay...' post.

Used to Babysit for the Old Man and got fridge rights, internet and Pay TV as well. Haven't had to do it since I got employed. I personally would do things for goods rather than cash though, like I'd rather get paid with free drinks rather than cash for umpiring Under 13's.

Haven't been able to find work in my field since being made redundant over 3 months ago now, and I'm almost through all my redundancy pay, so have just started the Uber signup process for a bit of extra cash. Takes a few weeks for the DCSI application to be approved, and then I can apply for the driver accreditation and get my vehicle inspection.

good luck

Think you'll find the money isn't that flash at all, nor the conditions.

I've done research on it, the money is fine if you can work a lot of hours, which I can right now. Once I get a job in my field, this will just be a nice bit of side income. I'm not sure what you mean by the conditions, I'm using my car? Uber gets 25% of the fares these days, not too bad if you can make 30-50 bucks an hour in fares, and more in surge periods.
