Saw an article in Saturday's paper that Poyas has been playing with us all this year without being under contract? WTF? Surely this isn't true? Maybe there was a contract but it hadn't been lodged with the AFL?

Can anyone shed any further light on this? PB?

From what I gather he was always registered, but his contract had been slightly updated and it was this, newer, contract that the club absent-mindedly forgot to lodge with the AFL.

Apparently $20,000 will be the cost of this stupidity.

Could this be the explanation as to why he quickly disappeared off the radar? The club was unwilling to play him for fear of losing points?
