In keeping with my quirks, I thought I would share with you all my experiences thus far of F1 2011, and my career so far.

I've started out with Williams, and completed 7 races, of which I've finished 4. I've had three spectacular first lap crashes (Australia, China and Monaco), but scored points in Malaysia, Turkey, Spain and Canada. I currently have 27 points, which is 27 more than my teammate, and in Canada I actually set the fastest lap of the race.

The car is slow. This much is very clear. Even with a new upgrade I'm well behind thwarted top teams. However, it's done quite well, considering. I'd have liked to have qualified higher than 10th in Valencia though.

How much more realistic is the handling compared to 2010?

I got bored with F1 2010 when after a bit of practice I could take pole comfortably and win by a stupid margin in a Toro Rosso with all the aids turned off.

I generally prefer games like rFactor where you have to work a bit harder and be gentle on the throtte/steering and if you start to lose the back end you can feel it and have a chance to fight it.

Well, I have brake assist on as I'm not great, so I can really say if it's more realistic. AI is set to professional and some drivers are better tha others. Lapping certain drivers is tougher than others.

Maybe I had the AI drivers set too low.

Still a fun game and great for re-familiarising yourself with all the basically identical tilkedromes before the races:thumbsu:

Last night I managed to get my underpowered Williams on pole for the Hungarian grand prix. This is mostly down to finding the right setup, and knowing when to use DRS and KERS, but I was shocked I was able to do it. Will hopefully get through race on Saturday- and hopefully I won't balls it up!
