Getting aventurous and inspired by the orb I thought I'd start a thread.

Tips will usually be AFL, Super XV, NRL and a sprinkling of soccer and cricket. Bank roll is $100,000 using poor money mangement I hope to turn it into $100,001 at least.

Starting with the AFL

$4650 on Essendon line (-22.5 taken yesterday)

But I am not as aventurous, I am only starting with 5k.

Hi thrillhou this is just a betting thread like any other.

I'm going to put it out there and hope that I can find enough bets to make money. Don't be put off by the amounts - I've taken a Line of Credit against my house to allow this play money. Prior to this thread I have made a lot of money in the NBA, NCAAB and other sports with the same method, so I've decided to get serious.

Bet what you can afford but remember that I'm starting with $100K, if you are starting with $10K then lop a zero off my bets.

If you're on board hopefully I can get off to a good start. By the way, I'd happily take the Essendon line @ -26.5 that it is today if you are not already on.

I agree that Fremantle +10.5 was the right bet. I just thought you pathetic logic that Geelong didn't care about round 1 was just that.

maybe i used the wrong word Tants. "didnt care" maybe they do care but i clearly backed that up by saying they certainly are no where near peak for round 1, compared to later in the season. I also said this is due to a shorter PS due to grandfinal and im not sure if you watched Garry Lyon but after a flag they clearly do things they usually wouldnt do. Garry said that and Garry needs to be respected.

I dont look to far past Lloyd and Lyon for when it comes to football knowledge.

Ask Duritz about the Orb. It's a marvelous tool of his. Some would argue it's his best tool. Some even question if he is the tool.

TBH I have no idea what a tool the orb is.

The fact is in 2008 (after winning the flag in 2007) they won almost every game for the season before finally having an off day in the Grand Final. What a joke from Lyon to suggest they were too mentally fragile to go back to back.

To be honest, I'm not sure how anyone that watches On The Couch can stand watching FC. Every time I watch it I feel like putting my remote through the TV.

And to put everyone else out of their misery - Orb is nothing! Duritz just made it up to give his selections some air of mystery FFS.

Will you be providing analysis on your bets or just the bet and amount?

Interested to know why you feel confident Essendon will cover against a bogey team of theirs who are coming off a good win? My lean was definitely Essendon but I shyed away after more research and decided it was a no bet game for me.

There used to be an orb but he rubbed it so much that it started blowing dust and had to be taken to the tip so the local kiddies wouldn't catch anything from it.

Thanks Borgs. As mentioned this strategy has been successful. There is no guarantee it will continue to be but I feel that there is money to be made. Villify and hate if I crash and burn it's only $100K on the house.

Like all good strategies I'm not going to release that info (at this stage). I have discussed it with some people (Borgs for example) and done some back testing.
