Alright, I've checked with several sources, and I am 95% certain that we have defeated Carlton.:D

I was distressed to learn of the knee inx to Marc Dragicevic (try to type that ten times real fast) and the poss AC separation to Darren Gaspar.

I've read quite a bit of comment about the strength of our new hires. Is there good enough depth on the Tiger bench to allow for injuries to key players? How much?

Also, something which concerns me is that Carlton didn't play with a full hand, and we still didn't take control of the game until late. Is this a legitimate concern in dealing them in the regular season, or are we still working the rust out of the gears?

That's enough. Go Tiges!

Dragga Out For The Year

Richmond forward Marc Dragicevic has received the news he was dreading – that he requires a second knee reconstruction.

Dragicevic tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for the second time in the in the opening 30 seconds of the Tigers’ Wizard Home Loans Cup win over Carlton on Friday night.

It was only the 20-year-old’s third pre-season appearance for the Tigers since he first injured his knee against the Kangaroos in round six last year with both mishaps occuring at Colonial Stadium.

Richmond media manager Tony Greenberg said Dragicevic was “devastated” by his latest setback.

However he has already received great support from his teammates, who visited Dragicevic in Geelong last night in what was meant to be an early celebration for his 21st birthday later this month.

Dragicevic will not be available to play again until the start of next season but the Tigers will ensure he remains involved with the club throughout another long injury rehabilitation process.

Greenberg said Dragicevic’s latest setback was as a result of a freak accident in the opening seconds of Friday night’s clash.

“His knee just went from underneath him as he was running,” Greenberg said.

Dragicevic has kicked 24 goals from his 43 matches since debuting in 1999 and was a nominee for the AFL’s rising star award in his debut season.

The Tigers will also be without champion defender Darren Gaspar for their Wizard Cup semi-final clash against Adelaide this week after he injured his collarbone during the win against Carlton.

However the Tigers maintain Gaspar will be fit for the club’s season opener against Collingwood in four weeks time.
