Firstly pay respect to Richmond they performed. With a thrashing last week one would have thought we could overcome them.But we could not.
Well , what logicial statement can one make of our current situation. Oh yes play for draft picks etc but really what is being shown up right now will not be solved with an extra couple of picks. We lack of faith in our forwards,we lack the lack power to remove the ball from neutral situations and we have a backline that has BIG lack of pace and is preocupied with possesion but dont have the skills to get the job done with that game plan.
I listened to Thompson Pre-game , how he had the team set the agenda, asked them what we should be playing , what they thought we should be doing. The answer "lets play Man on Man". Man on Man? Just how can we play man on man with the guys we have on the ball? Look I dont what to go into a manic rave but we are really in trouble when we ask the players what we should play, they say man on man and then they play like that.
The coach has put his faith in the players, in fact Id say he has put more than that, he has put his and their future on the line with this faith. Guys will lose their position on their list from performances like this , he had faith in them and was rewarded thus.
The irony is he has faith in the players but the players have lost faith in one another. Fiddly footy come about because you dont have faith in the guy upfield to win a contested ball. Yes we need , better forwards but with todays style better forwards than we have would stuggle.
