I've got two. One is the one in a pet shop where a cat with wooden front legs is standing next to an aquarium that says, "Caution: Piranha". The second one is the one with a dog humping an upside down car. Below it is written, "When car chasers dream".

The one where there is a line of cows entering the slaughterhouse and one cow is saying to another, 'Hey you, back of the line, stop pushing in'

My two favourites;

1: The real reason Dinosaurs became extinct: A group of dinosaurs are standing around smoking.

2: A man is lieing on the floor. A dog is scratching this man furiously on his underarm, making his leg jerk up and down uncontrollably. (Much like what happens when you scratch a dog's underarm.)

Two men have been shipwrecked on a tiny deserted island for some time. While one man was asleep, the other paints a picture of a ship on his glasses lens. He wakes him up and shouts eagerly "Gary, Gary, Wake Up Quick! There's a Ship! Put on your glasses and see!"

Larson and his publishers got in plenty of trouble for that cartoon, though it's meant to be harmless. The dog is merely meant to be standing on the car howling in a victory salute way; it's not supposed to be "romantically entangled."

I've got far too many Far Side favourites to name here. (Fanboy! FAAAAAANboy! )

and

the one where the guy has a piano hidden under his coat (flipping massive and clearly under there) and is stealing is and the shop assisstans comes out and says 'did u drop this?' and he has a piano seat in his hand

also

the one where the frankenstein guy is at the front door and the mum is there going 'why yes we do have two children that wont eat their vegetables' and the kids r at the window looking scared lol.

I reckon the best is the one with "Midvale School for the Gifted" and the kid is trying to push through a door that has "PULL" on it. He just looks so defeated, its a classic.

Or the one where the two explorers are entering a tribal village, and there is a guy dressed up in colourful feathers, chains, bones, necklaces and standing on the backs of two guys on all fours.
"Hey, I think this is the chief"

Also like the one tagged 'early plumbers' or something like it. Picture is a caveman looking at a hole in the ground with a bit of dunnyroll on a stick next to it.... "ooh this not be cheap" as the owners of the hole look on worriedly.

That one is such a classic that in my parts, when an otherwise bright guy stooges something up, you say, "Graduated Midvale?"

My other favorite is the deer with the bullseye target on his flank. His deer friend says, "Bummer of a birthmark, Hal."

We say that to people when they get promoted.

Kinda off topic as it isn't a far side (we have the Far Side 2003 calandar, pretty good!) but it is a card I was given for my birthday last year. On the front it has penguins on their bellies skidding across the ice. One of the penguins yells out "STOP!", and on the inside it says: "My willy has frozen!". Perhaps you have to see the card.

We had an old Far Side desktop calandar lying around and one of the pictures had these indians carrying 2 women on like a stretcher above their heads. They were running up this volcano/hill thing looking rather happy. One of the women says to the other "You said they wouldn't like it if I told them we were Americans. So, I said we were Virginians!"

Cows standing on 2 legs in a paddock. One yells "Car !"....and they all go down on 4 legs.

Cows standing outside the barn sneakily eating a large steak with a knife and fork....one cow turns to the other "you know what ??? we taste like chicken !"

That's one of my favourites, too.

Picking your favourite panels, that's kinda like trying to pick between which of your relatives is your favourite, isn't it?

I'll add one... the "Boneless Chicken Ranch". Chickens, all without bones and ready for consumption, all locked up in the paddock...

I also like the "Bummer of a birthmark Hal" cartoon and also there is one with a young cowboy who has stacked his horse into a tree but I can't remember the caption. Just the whole concept of a crumpled up horse ala a car wreck in the wild west cracks me up for some reason.

Also the one where the pilot says "Let's Land This Baby" captioned under two pilots approaching a runway flying a giant.....baby.

Whilst on the subject I used to work at 35 Collins St, Melb and every morning around 10 in the morning there was a guy that used to go to the bar downstairs (Klicks) and buy a poy of beer and read the paper. This guy looked exactly like one of the Farside characters. I was so tempted to bring a camera in and take his picture but I never had the guts to do it.

hahaha! has anyone seen the guy that works on the V-Line trains around melbourne who looks exactly like trevor marmalade? lol we actually took a picture of him a few years ago!
