Only game i've seen in Melbourne was our Round 13 loss to Collingwood this year :(.

The game we played hawthorne on that windy cold winter night and nic nat scored three goals will never forget the excitement and the magic he displayed. I think that was 2009 ! but im sure it was one of his earlier games.

His second game, to be precise.

I had to go to dinner at my in-laws, and they had friends over who are Eagles supporters, but the kind that tape it and watch it later. Anyway, I refused to turn off the TV and watched the game. :P Don't think the mother-in-law or her friend were too happy. If they have to make me come over for dinner during an Eagles game, then they suffer the consequences.

Also was quite happy to text my Hawthorn supporting cousin after the game with "Naitanui!!". :) Ok... tangent story: The same bastard texted me right after the 2005 GF with "Go Swannies!". This year he invites me around to "watch Hawthorn smash Sydney and win the flag". I was sooooo tempted to text him after the siren went with "Go Swannies!" but the look on his face was just so sad. He covered it up with jokes but you could see the devastation in his eyes. Worst pain in football is experiencing a grand final loss. Anyway, end tangent.

Naitanui!

I particularly like the 2015 QF against Hawthorn. Dismantled one of the great teams of the modern era.

One that I always post about is 2009 vs Bulldogs @ Etihad. Bulldogs were 13-5 and 4th, we were 5-13 and about 14th. No one gave us a chance, and our away form that year wasn't good. I still remember the qtr by qtr scores

0.8 vs 3.2, 5.11 vs 10.3, 10.16 vs 13.3, 13.19 vs 16.6

We led 57-10 at one point, and if the Bulldogs could kick they would've been in front at 3qtr time. They stormed in front by about 2 goals late but Embley slotted a couple including one on the boundary about 45m out. They had twice the experience we had out there. Still one of my favourite wins as an Eagle supporter.

1. The '06 GF

-Daylight-

2. The 54 point comeback vs. Geelong
3. NicNats 2nd game when he saved us against Hawthorn.

At least those are the 3 that I watched. I was too young the see the '92 and '94 flags.

'06 Grannie - nerve wracking especially after '05. The relief and joy when we won. pleasurable.

'94 Prelim - first eagles game I attended

'17 Elimination Final - bright start and then the tension mounting as our lead whittled away, as it had so often during the year. Emac!
Overtime. Get slaughtered on the restart. Despair. JJK fires. Jetta goes berzerk. Hope. A whistle, a sweet trilling whistle. A siren. Release. FIN.

2005 Preliminary Final v Adelaide

That 4 goal run in 3rd quarter to put us 6 goals up (Cousins, Hansen, Chick, Selwood) the crowd was deafening.

Adelaide got within 9 points in last quarter and then Chick and Hansen slammed on goals within 30 seconds to book us in to GF.

2004 v Brisbane in round 19 @ the Gabba

Was the first Eagles game I attended and I can remember it vividly.
Family had moved from WA to Noosa the year previous.
We were 10th fighting to stay in contention for the finals, Brissy were top and looking their typical Brissy best at that point.
Just a perfect footy experience, warm sunny day, big crowd (31,000: which is huge for Brisbane), real arm wrestle of a match but we just had all the answers.
Phil Matera was great that day although inaccurate. We won 87-73 :)
