All great moments... another one I liked was in one of Jason Laycocks first games he took a mark near the boundary line, Hirdy tried to drag him inwards to improve the angle, but Laycock kept going to the boundary, the look on Hird's face was priceless... Laycock went on to slot the goal checkside...

LMAO!! THE BEST!!!!!!!!

The memory that stands out most in my mind actually is last year Hirdy was in the locker room stretching and Hirdy Jr's were running around in there annoying him, pretending to take speccies off his back while he was trying to stretch, they were attempting to annoy (Fletcher?) and Hirdy just went about stretching while they jumped all over him.
Cutest thing ive ever seen.
Everyone knows his kids. He's just such a loving Dad.
Oh and one of the little boys was sitting under him in the change rooms at a very young age and Hirdy was sharing his sandwich with his son.
My bad.. im a bit of a softie.

Them boys are guna grow up with the same passion Hirdy had. Lets hope they grow up havin the same skill to!

Be big expectations on them tho. Look at the Ablett boys.

When I met Thomas Hird (didn't know who he was yet) aged 3, the first thing he asked me was "What team do you barrack for?" of course I replied "The Bombers" and then he said "My dad's the captain!" - I checked his name tag & saw that it was true, so I made sure that I looked after him for his week in Ski School.

awwww how sweet!! I bet he was the cutest little kid!

I miss hirdy. i watch his highlights and jus miss watching him play.

Yeah it was really cool spending the week with him. Also was great to see James as Dad - cos of his contract he wasn't allowed to ski so he looked after the kids all week.

Also his wife parks outside my house quite often to take the boys to one of their sporting activites.
