Port Adelaide plays the first serious game of footy for the new millennium when they take on the Northern Territory in Darwin.
NT will have a few AFL based players such as Dean Rioli, Ronnie Burns and the Motlop boys playing for them, but Stephen Koops is out injured and former Docker/Demon Scott Chisholm is under suspension. Andrew McLeod was not released by the Camrys.
Port will take about 30 players to Darwin, but some who are on modified training regimes (Wanganeen, Paxman, Lyle) will not play. Port fans will watch anxiously the return of Brendon Lade, whose season was wrecked in round 2 last year with a broken leg.
