He played his first game for 2 months yesterday for Eagles reserves at SANFL and did OK kicking 2 goals. I think he is still probably a month away from getting reasonably match fit. I would thisnk that if he conttinues to impress he will get a game in the next 4-6 weeks.

Munga,

I was at the centrals v eagles game yesterday and watched the reserves.

I can tell you that Fergus Watts got thru unscathed in the Eagles reserves. I'd say he would be in their best players.

He still looks a bit stiff, needs some match fittness. His field kicking also needs some work.

Kicked the first goal for the eagles and I think he finsihed with two. One of his marks at half forward set up another goal. Started in a pocket, then full forward and then moved to half forward line.

Lead well and demanded the ball. As soon as eags midfielders got it screamed for the ball, ran hard and straightened them up.

Worked hard in close and took quite a few great contested marks. Looks like an AFL footballer.

Probably needs a month of SANFL footy under his belt before he really hits his straps. Will not be in the ressies for long. If he stays fit could be a Crow by May/June.

No he doesn't. He is ready to play and be one of the greatest centremen the game has ever seen.

I predict 42 possessions, 16 marks and 18 goals on debut.

Dont get too carried away he has a fair bit of work to fo first.
True but lets face it, he is currently better than a few options we have. Come next year with good pre-season under his belt and AFC very much in rebuilding phase, its fair to say that Watts will play a LOT of games (most probably all of our games).

He will take time as will a lot of ur youngsters but he is most likely to stand up next year than any other kid we have on our list (apart from maybe Jericho who should get more than 10 games this year and maybe a nomination along the way)

He'll never be one of the greatest centremen the game has ever seen - he's 6'5" and plays CHF.

Having said that he's going to make one hell of a CHF IMO. I hope Adelaide manage him carefully because he'll be good enough to be our CHF for at least 10 years.

He can do something that very few Crow players can do - take a strong contested overhead mark!! :)

Yes he will. Pavlich is an example of the new tall breed of midfielders, Watts will take it to the next level with his agility, dexterity, hilarity and sickness.
