"Few tiny ones"

I notice that Neville Stibbard has said that , following the conclusion of the Carey trade,we're not likely to do much more trading except, maybe, a few "tiny ones". Wonder what they could be. Probably Michael Stevens and maybe Shannon Watt or Adam Lange for draft picks I guess, in any event it looks like that's about it for us (though I still hope we can somehow get Cupido).

Well Bourke was a surprise.. not a nice one either hope there arent ne more of them..

Watt for #34 would be nice thx Carlton..

Cochrane for M.Stevens

Clayton for a draft pick (send him somewhere dont know where)

Go Roos
I want Jared Brennan:D

All of a sudden Watt has become more valuable. Has another year of contract to run so can't dump him, and with Martyn possibly retiring, McCartney now in doubt until further information available, Watt might be necessary on our list.

Morpheous,

Your post raises more questions. It was Neville Stibbard who "chased" Byron's signature, even to the extent of leaving a hand-writen note on Byron's door.

Byron had to travel miles and miles to train. Port overlooked him,out but Stibbard didn't. Byron was extremely disappointed thought he had missed out on his chance to play AFL.

Now Port are reaping the benefits of a ready made player - with huge credentials.
And North have a player on "compassionate grounds" who can't break into Port's senior side. Surely a first in AFL.

well michelle i'm also not happy about the deal.
however, its not all doom and gloom...

1) we get a key position player who apparently is pretty talented, loyal and commited.

2) will we really miss byron on the field, with harding, jones and motlop jnr almost certain to be playing as the small forward role?

3) we get pick 31.

as harsh as this sounds, i think that we need a good defender more than we need byron. if brown is that player then this deal is probably in our best interests. one of my main concerns is exactly how good brown is and whether he will really make a significant improvement to our list.

I was just saying why is this a tiny one, Surely If Pickett was to be traded he wouldn't be classified as tiny IMO.

byron must wanna go home or other clubs would be in on the dealings, so we must possibly have to be resigned to the fact that its home time for him,

Morpheous,

I understand what and agree with what you said.

I think Port was hiding behind the 'compassionate grounds' rubbish, you know, let the Byron trade go through to the keeper.

*drum roll*
"We are getting M. Stevens, (who can't break into Port's senior side) oh and btw, we have traded Byron for a player who maybe able to play a bit in the future."

Lets hope they both have a fantastic future at North for the next decade.

BTW:- It's Morpheus not Morpheous.

Ah, so noted.

At least you made me smile.;)

btw I have given up on people misspelling my name.

if pickett is gone id advise not to watch fox footy at the moment as the doggies vs roos game is on right now and it was one of picketts better games
