Fifa 2003 is the next game I will be getting for Xbox, due out Thursday but some are saying it is already out.

It will be interesting to see how the gameplay has changed since World Cup 2002 (which I think is a great game and I still play). I heard they detached the ball from the foot, shall be interesting.

I played FIFA 2003 on PS2 tonight and I must say that I was impressed, especially when the Liverpool home crowd at Anfield started singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" when I scored a goal. :D

The game is the most realistic FIFA game I've played so far.... much better then FIFA 2002 (which I was disappointed with) and FIFA World Cup 2002.

Cheers!!

Talking about chants, I love how the crowd will chant 2 nil if that's the score (or whatever it is), if you are winning at home or losing away.

You can really pull off some great moves with the freestyle thingy and is doesnt get any better than scoring off free kicks.

Ah, but it doesn't compare to the crowd chanting "BULL-SH|T!!! BULL-SH|T......" when you play as the Aussies in Pro Evolution.

I got Fifa 2003 on PC yesterday, and it is the best yet. The free kicks are special, I was playing as Australia and the scores were 1-1 in injury time before Kewell goaled from a free kick about 40 metres away! :D

Gav....seen as I cant get Pro Evo is Fifa 2003 worth my time on XBox in your opinion?

If you haven't played Pro Evolution and you need a soccer game, then yes.

But if you've played Pro Evolution, then don't go near it. :)

If you are ahead in the last 10 minutes then the AI will throw all their players forward and really put pressure on you. In one game I was up 5-2, then I had 3 goals scored on me in the last 10 mins.

I am liking this freestyle control thing and I think if you are to do any good then you need to get good at it.

As Liverpool in Semi-Pro mode I finally ended a 7 game losing streak (including home defeats against Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers) by beating Ajax 2-0. I recommend this game to all soccer fans because FIFA is finally low scoring and more difficult. It rocks!

My games aren't that low scoring. Ive had a couple of 5 all draws in the past 5 odd games (8 min halves, pro).

Alan Shearer actually looks exactly like Alan Shearer. Has his goal celebration as well (right arm raised in the air). Good enough for me.

Daics,

I played against Newcastle last night at Anfield and after going down early, I scored a couple of ripper goals close to the end and the crowd actually started singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" and then cheered after each pass when I was trying to keep possession.... it was awesome!! :D

It's great. Told ya it had Anfield.

When Beckham scores a goal that puts his team in front or equalises in the last few minutes, he does that celebration he did when he scored from that free kick against greece in the World Cup Qualifier.

Some questions

* The last fifa game I played was fifa2001. How much different is the gameplay in fifa2003?
* In 2001 it was possible to score header/ scissor kick goals on nearly every cross. How easy is it to score these goals on World class level?
* On world class level, does the computer score goals by using three or four 360 degree spins or do they score goals properly by passing the ball to beat the defence?
* How much did the game cost for PC?

*Extremely different. Streets ahead of Fifa 2001. You must be patient and keep possession to do well just like real soccer, and using one touch passes essential up forward because the AI will put you under allot of pressure, although sometimes you can use the freestyle system to dodge a defender and get in the clear. Very good.
*No, I haven't even scored from one cross yet. All the headers I do are really soft and therefor easy for the goalie to stop.
*From my experience the latter.
*Not sure.

I am yet to score from a corner, but i have volleyed a ball home from a wide cross, wrongfooting the keeper. :)

Ive played the demo, this game looks awesome.

A few questions:

*what are all the different game modes (knockout, league etc.)
*how many difficulty levels are there (i hear theres semi-pro which is new to me)
*When will this game be released on the Gamecube or is it already out?
*when is proevo2 due out?

FIFA 2003 on PC costs 60 dollars.

There is a european league with the big 16-18 clubs. You play each other twice in a league system, then the top 8 move into the quater finals.

Its a good game but its not with out its faults.

How can Clayton Zane rate 91?

to put this into perspective for you who have not played the game. Zidane and Owen rate 88 yet Clayton Zane rates 91.

I traded in World Cup 2002 and got $35 bucks off Fifa 2003 which I was pretty happy with. The game is great but I do find it very hard to score goals from corners, crosses, or headers. I only ever score if I manage a through ball to leave a forward in a one on one with the keeper.

But the computer seems to score from all over the place so I suppose in time and practice I will be able to aswell. The free kick taker is awesome...I cant wait till I score a sweet 20 yard free kick with a curling shot into the top corner ala Danny Murphy!

Headers have probably taken a step back from WC2002 but the overall gameplay and more features makes it a better game. I love it when your up 2-0 and the crowd starts to chant....twwwwooooo niiiiilllllllllllllll.....TWWWOOOOOO NNIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL :D
