YEP totally agree alpha, he is maturing by the game.Future leader for sure,is he in the leadership group? Tough little nugget, gets hit hard everyweek.But gets up and says is "that your best shot". Love guys who play their football like that. he is good inside and outside. In fact i would be inclined to make him vice captain next year or deputy vice captain if there is one. Then again do players like Thorton ,Simpson deserve it more?

DON'T likethe fact we have currently a so called leader of our club, languishing in the reserves out of his own doing. He makes my blood boil?

I think he is in the young leaders group? The kids who are getting groomed to be leaders at our club or something like that. But I tell you what we can't go wrong with kids like, Kruz, Murphy, Gibbs and others.

i'm just glad he's managed to rectify one of his flaws (if he had any at all) from last year with his goal kicking. 19 goals is a super effort from a young lad who really struggled to finish his good ball winning work last season with a goal.
oozes class does our little champ.

He's never had flaws, he's polished up a little bit. Imagine next season after some tweaks, he will win the Brownlow soon.

No one is perfect I guess, but what I love about Smurf is how mature he has always been, watching these kids grow up is exciting in itself.

exactly. i was a trainer at the local for a few years and the constant massages, beach trips, pool work, iceing of the niggles worked wonders in keeping the lads on the park.

Just typical comments of a qyuality professional sportsman, hopefully a few of the other boys in the team bother to take note.
This level of professionalism is expected at international level of any sporting code .

His ability to kick goals from the midfield has been absolutely fantastic this year. He's right, it IS the hallmark of a very good player.

Also, good head on his shoulders, sure... but check those guns he's packing these days! Those preseasons starting to work wonders, and it really shows out on the field.
