As we all know there has been a lot of discussion regarding the punishment that Essendon might receive as part of the ASADA investigation. One of the more popular punishments has been that the Bombers lose their points for this season.

But of course losing points is only a punishment if you have won a lot of games. If Essendon were as bad as Melbourne nobody would be recommending that we lose points because it would not be a punishment. In other words, the greater the likelihood of winning a premiership the more likely that we lose our points.

Essendon has lost their last three games convincingly, telling the football world that they are no chance of winning the premiership. What is the point of taking our points? It's a non-punishment.

But what if it was all a cunning ruse? What if we were intentionally losing to improve our chances of making the finals. And then when we get to the finals:

Suddenly we are back to our best and then we win the premiership ;-)
I don't believe any of this. We are actually just playing shit. But if it happened it'd be the greatest moment in the history of our sport :p

haha would be a cunning plan! Unfortuantely i think were playing crap already :/

but i do somewhat agree with the point about cause we were top 4 material points taken off is a high agenda. But if we were sitting anywhere from 13-18. I doubt the points being taken off would be as much of a push, instead it would of been taken Draft picks away from us.

So i do believe the punishment is fit on where we stand on the ladder.
