First 22 next year

You have to look at what each player offers us.

For example: we can play Lucas/Lloyd/Neagle in the same team, as they are all very different players, Lucas is a good focal point, Lloyd a really good hitup/ high half forward type player as shown this year, and Neagle can be very potent out of the square as shown early in the year.

This is what we have to consider with the mids.

For example:

Winderlich/Prismall/Houli/Lovett/Myers/Riemers all provide that run and carry option, and tbh, Prismall is really going to have to shine if he is to play in our midfield as we already have options as formentioned.

If Prismall was good enough to break Geelongs midfield. Im pretty sure he has Winders covered. Once fit, he will play every week. I think Dempsey and Winderlich must have big years, as at this stage, both show potential but have been at the club long enough. I know Injuries are the reason for that, but either get right or get out. I hope they get up and fire.
Hopefully trade week puts a rocket up Lovett.

Before people say about injuries at Geelong. he played in the first final when only Kelly and Wojac missed. Had he played the way his was in the lead up to that final, he would have kept both out of the side for the GF.

Prismall will be great to hit our big forwards on the tit with bullet like passes.

Gee it is hard to fit all the players i want to into one team. A few tweaks here and there depending on injuries, best fit, chemistry etc. I decided on no Laycock or Second Ruckman. Hille can rest in forward line, Gumbleton can go back and Ryder can pinch-hit in the ruck.

the three players on the emergency list will have been injured and will need to find some touch, i think at this point dempsey is the most needed in our best 22, his run out of defence and chasing etc was very good for us in the games he played. Gumbleton and neagle will be switching in and out of the best 22 depending on form, if lloyd or lucas goes down then both will be in. Prismall wont probbaly be available for selection until mid year, and who he comes in for would depend on form and injuries.
People will question the inclusion of pears but i thought he showed a lot when he played and we really need to develop him as KP back imo. pick 5 would also present some selection dilemmas especially if its a midfeilder such as sidebottom. I think welsh is a definite starter, our side seem to carry a lot of midfeilders who are reluctant to chase, really put there body on the line and block for other teammates, welsh does this better then anyone and would pivotal in our little winning streak this year, he must be in there.

With 11 players listed there, there's no lack of options up forward. 2009 expectations should rise a whole lot should we land ROK..

Im not going to include potential Draftees or Recruits.

A fair bit of competition for spots this year. Bendigo should go a hell of a lot better than they did last year.

Pears, Dyson, Hocking, Hislop hopefully have big starts to the year, and put even more pressure on the above.

Prismall will be out for the first half, and I imagine that he will come back through the VFL. But he will waltz into the side. I am very excited to see him pull on the red and black for the first time.

Hopefully we pick up Hurley, and hopefully he comes on quickly as the only place we are thin is down back.

Would like someone to be capable of playing a Hodge type role. I dont think we are that far away.
