Dont hold it against me guys but you probally have the right too......

My first crows game was against Melbourne round 4 or 5 at the G in 91.

My dad is a Richmond fan but he thought the crows first game at the G was worth going over for.

He gave me and me little bro $5 and i bought the eagles badge cos they were the team i liked as a kid and i liked the eagle holding the footy with his chest out LOL

My brother is now a Bombers fan but i dont hate him for it although i hate them more then/or as much as you guys hate Port :D

Think the crows won by 5 or maybe 11 points.
Cheers Steve

Ohh and im gunning for you guys in the finals. So GO CROWS, SA proud :thumbsu:

I remember that game, standing room only with my Dad at the back of the seats mean while my brother was hanging out with the GODRA banner. I remember half way through the last quarter someone started the "We're in the finals, *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* " Was great! :thumbsu: I remember when the 'woods supporters came back with "We're already been there, *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* " Even at the age of 10 I realised that Collingwood supporters were idiots lol.

Lol that was the people I was there with, I was very young but I remember lining up outside for hours before the game to get tickets (or maybe we had tickets and it was just to get good, non-reserved, seats) and it was f***ing hot!

Unless I went to any pre-season games, which I may have but don't remember, my first game was Hawks in 91, I had just turned 4. Didn't realise the significance of the game then, but I'm so glad now my dad took me down. Distinct childhood memory of him picking me up from my grandma's after he finished work to take me there.

We live in Whyalla, and never considered driving back and forth (round trip of some 800kms) in the early years of the Crows. Then a work colleague, a Norwood FC member, knowing we were Crows supporters gave us his tickets to a Norwood curtain raiser at Football Park. That was Rd 22, 1995, Richmond 19.9 d Adelaide 12.14. Despite the loss we loved the Footy Park experience - still do - and joined up the next year.

Until this thread I wasn't sure when that match was, but have pinned it down on Footywire.

Since then we have worn out several cars on the trip, but the Crows are worth it!

My first game was Adelaide vs Collingwood at Football Park in the 1992 season. It was a Sunday Night game, it rained at times. We lost by 5 points..... boy the atmosphere was amazing. Saw a game in 1993 which we dominated but kicked 13.27 for the night but won easily, I think it was against Melbourne. Moved to Tasmania in 1995. Seen a handful of games in returns to Adelaide in recent years and been to all games in Launceston.

1991 vs Fitzroy. Rodney Jameson kicking the game winner after the siren.

Actually we didnt play Melbourne at the MCG in 1991 in fact we didnt play Melbourne at all in 1991, we played North Melbourne at the MCG on a Friday night about round 6 or 7 and we led all night for North to come from behind and pinch it. Alan Bartlett got torn a new one in the last quarter and cost us the game.

We played Melbourne in Victoria in 1992, but it was at Princes Park. The first time we played Melbourne at the G was 1993.

That was the game were Modra and Hodges collided in mid-air and Mods broke his ribs and I dont think we saw him again until he was a late call up for Hodges in round 1 1993 against Richmond.

Watched the Crows take on the Swans at Macquarie Fields in SW Sydney, during the 1998 pre-season (we'd both already been knocked out of the pre-season competition).
I was at the 1999 game at Campbelltown.
too bad we lost :( at least we could have kick to kick on the field at the breaks

and there were some Crows people walking around offering membership, dad became a boundry line member that year. Been a member every year since :thumbsu:

First H&A game was 1991 against Carlton. A loss for my first game. Was not happy!

1991 vs Fitzroy. Rodney Jameson kicking the game winner after the siren.

As I far as I can recall it was a wet and cold night game. I think Jammo kicked his goal from a fair way out after receiving a very dodgy free kick.

Pretty sure it was an Essendon game in 1993. Night game. Went with some people I knew, instead of their mother-in-law.

My first Crows game was Round 14, 1994 vs the Saints at Waverley. I had just turned 7 and dad took me because I supported the crows and he went for the saints. All I can really remember about the game was that it was a draw(the only one we've ever had) and I reckon the Saints played Colllingwood in the reserves beforehand.

My bad, I asked my dad and it was against Richmond, makes sense as hes a Richmond member.

It was round 13 in 91. Definately the G. I remember the G as it was my first time there and the crows definately won.

Good luck smashing Essendon tomorrow guys :D

R24 vs North Melbourne, 1991

Various memories/observations:
  • Stepbrother played in the curtain raiser, a schools final between Plympton and Blackwood which was highly reminiscent of Port vs North less than 2 years before. Blackwood had one goal in mind...
  • The Football Record had Collingwood coach Leigh Matthews on the front with the headline 'HOPING'.
  • Some kid named Rehn takes home the 3 Brownlow Votes in just his 6th game.
  • Crows Milk was awesome (after a quarter-long stuggle convincing dad it was flavoured and not plain white and therefore seemingly a valid purchase).
  • Apparently there were only 28 tackles laid for the entire match - jeez statisticians were harsh judges in those days.
  • Only 3 players who took the field that day were older then than I am now - if I had a pair of creepy daughters I'd make sure they bought me some Just For Men for Father's Day.

1998 vs Western Bulldogs.
I was 7, and I can't remember if it was home and away, but i recall us getting our asses kicked...
