Well, I've always been against winning money online, but I could have no choice. I'm currently playing a Freeroll Razz Tournament on Full Tilt. I entered to kill some time, and because Chris Ferguson was playing (what a nice guy, playing for next to nothing.

Anyways, I was short-stacked for half the tournament, and at one stage while talking trash in the chat box announced "what to I care anyways, I'm not gonna win". At this point in the tournament, whenever I found hands, I would be killed on fourth or fifth street - you need to showdown hands at this point, when most of the players are bad.

I got to the point of moving all-in and survived it, and found myself doubling up later. I then won a big pot and climbed to about 20k in chips, and survived to the bubble by picking up small pots (at this point it was easier to bluff, because most left were good players who knew what they were doing).

I fluctuated between 20 and 40k while trying to make the money (a garunteed $2!) and survived. I then found myself playing my A game, and soon had picked up some huge pots with premium hands. Soon enough, I found myself in the chip lead. I'm now second in chips as I write this, making the final table from a field of 800 in Razz (my first ever Razz tournament, multi or single table - it's my second best game actually).

I'll post an update on how I do as I gun for that monster $5 prize. Lol.

Well done.

However I can't really see why you are so afraid of depositing monies via the internet to the various online institutions.

Everyone pays something or other over the internet these days - whether it be paying bills, transferring money to someone's account, buying something off E*bay or Amazon, buying shares or depositing monies to online casinos/bookmakers/TAB.

I use the internet for all these puposes and have never, ever had a problem

It might be time to get with the program or the rest of the world could leave you behind !!!

Agreed, or alternatively go with something like Neteller

time to deposit some money Crosby,

You obviously have an understanding of poker and online..well even a donk who has some money management skills can earn online. The bonuses out there are fantastic and quite frankly im happy to be paid extra bonuses, rakeback etc. Do you think Crown would pay me to go there? LOL

It's not that I'm afraid of putting money in an account online, I just prefer the live game. No doubt I'll eventually play more often online in years to come, but I'd rather have the bankroll to do it. And live play is far more fun - playing on the internet is frustrating, unless you're running good. I'd just rather take my money to a live game than play online with it.

Anyways, an update on the tournament, I went into the final table third in chips, but found absolutely no hands, and it got to the point that when I'd find some, I'd complete a bet and everyone would fold, Lol.

I got busted by the chip leader who basically called me down with next to nothing, just because he could. While all-in, I needed to hit a card lower than a Q to stay alive, but a 5 paired me, and his rough Q dominated my smooth K.

But, I'm happy with it, it was my first big tournament for months, and my first ever Razz tournament, and I came fifth. I plan on playing more freerolls, moreso for the tournament practice. Oh, and then I took the $2 to a No Limit table, 5c/10c, and played like four hands. Now I got 90c in my Full Tilt account, Lol.

Apologies for going off track a tad, but does anyone maintain a separate account for their bankroll, and if so, what do you recommend? Something like ING, or can you you PayPal / NetTeller / Click2Pay?

Net Teller, because every site uses it.

With neteller how do you deposit money? I stupidly set up my account and said I was living in Japan and now they dont seem to accept my credit card and the Japanese banking system is different to Australia's so setting it up as a payee is near impossible. Also cant start a new account because they use my Passport ID.

The only 'real' money I've won online was in a PokerChamps Freeroll. There were 1500 entrants and the Top 28 were paid. I lasted for around 3 hours to place 20th and win a WHOLE $1 :D At thetime it was quite exciting but playing for 3 hours and only winning $1 isn't worth it

You win more play money ;) And where I play it goes towards a team so there is a reason for the play money and you 'buy' TV's, IPOD's and more with this play money

You do realise you can turn that $1 into a lot more.

I know, Unfortunately I didn't win one hand with that $1 and now have $0. I went into a ring table when I later found out I could have gone into a Tourney where I play my best Poker :(

Well, I have never done it directly into NetTeller.

I put 50dollars into PartyPoker via Bpay, built that up to about 600ish and keep it in my NetTeller account so I can join websites easy, or put it straight back into my back account.

Came 4th and won $3. I'm rich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may seem silly to win just $3, but think about it - if you win, or even cash, in a lot of freerolls, where, let's face it, the competition isn't top notch, you could put together a solid little bankroll that could set you up for big things. It may seem farfetched, but dominating at lower limit tables and winning small sit and gos is how a lot of people get started - sometimes without even putting a cent into the site.

Thats the plan. It could take a while though.

Ive turned a $4 win in an Absolute Poker freeroll to just over $50 now, just playing 1 and 2 dollar buy in sit and go's. I manage to cash in about 75% of them, so my bankroll just keeps on increasing.

It is possible, but it is time consuming, its taken me about a year to get to this stage...lol.

Yea, but its fun, its your own stake and if you lose it, bad luck.

Loser's luck. good luck.

I won my first money online tonight. Finished 13th of 500 and won $1 :D

Was the first time i've played online for ages too, which made it better, as Pacific Poker the freerolls fill up in 5 minutes and ive never deposited anything online.

Played for almost an hour and a half for that dollar... have to spend it wisely. ;)
