Hi all,

I have a question which I'm sure the bigfooty folk can help with.

Let's say that a friend of mine this morning put some bets on a greyhound market with the tab.

When the bets went on two scratchings were displayed, so it appeared the market was as presented. It was clear that the prices of remaining runners had not had the deductions factored in however the market was open to bet.

Due to this my mate loaded up on a few runners and the prices were confirmed as displayed..the tab then suspended the market and an hour later put up new prices and listed the deductions. However the tab listed the deductions times an hour after my mate but the bets on, although they had an open market with better prices earlier with the scratchings listed so the market appeared final.

My question is, once the race is resulted I am sure my mate will be paid with the deductions as the market will show that they occurred an hour after his bets were placed. When he contacts the tab I am sure their answer will be as above.

Does anyone know where the official scratching times of runners can be found? And if anyone has had similar circumstances before?

My "friend" didn't screen shot the market at the time because he is an idiot.

I'd say no cigar unfortunately:

Bets placed after the time for final acceptances but before the TAB makes any adjustment to the prices it has set for the event following a
withdrawal shall stand subject to the TAB Limited scale of deductions contained in schedule 1 of these Rules as applying to the prices offered
by TAB for that contestant at the time of its scratching

You might have a case by arguing that the odds displayed were deceptive as scratched horses had been removed from field, so assumption was that deductions had already been made and you wouldn't have placed bets if you knew deductions were still to come.

Thanks terminators..I was trying to find a rule like this.

That definition is pretty clear cut so I'm sure that is the information I will be given.

I'll try my best with arguing that this then wouldn't stop them from quoting an inflated price and then including the deduction whenever it suits them but I don't like my chances.

The other interesting thing is that of the two scratchings, one has resulting in a 43 cent to the dollar deduction and the other is a zero deduction even though it's price was around $15 before scratching.
