Fixed Odds Double Question

I have been trying to put on a fixed odds double on TAB with precedence to win today into precedence to win the Melbourne cup, it says that the odds are 52 but wen i click submit the odds halve for some reason.... Can anyone explain why this is happening is it because its the same horse or is it just stuffing up?

Not 100% but i'd suggest it is because the 2nd bet affects the first. Precedence winning today would shorten it's Melbourne Cup price and therefore it's odds wouldn't be as long anymore.

He needed to win yesterday to be given a good shot of making the field. A loss yesterday would mean he wouldn't be accepted.

The Bookmakers know this and that's why they won't let you have the full odds.

It's like in football backing a team to win the Prelim Final into the same team to win the Grand Final. No bookie will let you do that because the two events are not independent. The team you are backing needs to rely on winning the prelim before it can win the grand final.

Cheers for that just wasnt sure why it was happening i thought this may have been the case.
