anyone here a member of flemington? How do become one etc. I heard you had to go on a restricted membership before you can go on the full one to allow you to go to the derby, cup, oaks etc.

Go to www.vrc.net.au and all the info is there. I was looking at it last week.
Yeh you have to be a restricted member first and you get general admission entry to the first three days of the carnival but not members reserve entry.

Used to be 1 year then they put it up to 5 years a few years back.

Its not a 5 year wait at all, thats rubbish. I became a restricted member in January 2004 and was a full member by the 2004 Melbourne Cup carnival. It will be no more than 1 season of being a restricted member.
