Coming to your locality soon, Uber eats dropping from the sky.

I'll be impressed when The Star Trek Replicator is up and about-

Clickbait for nuffs.

This **** will never happen

If it does ever happen it will only take a few of these Uber Air planes/choppers to crash and kill people before it gets knocked on the head.

I'm assuming they will be flown by proper pilots and not just any old dingbat like Uber cars but even then I can still see it being an absolute disaster.

The plan is for them to be operated autonomously, without a pilot. Like driverless cars.

Yeah I can see that working out well, I certainly wouldn't be too keen on getting into a plane or a chopper without a pilot, I'd rather get stuck in traffic.

I'd have appreciated some sort of drone pod I could stick my kids in for a time out when they were little with nothing but a book and shoot them up into the backyard to hover for half an hour or so.

Kind of hard to say without some kind of trial, but I think there’s more far more scope for error with humans driving, as opposed to AI operating the helicopters driving.

Unfortunately it’s hard to plan for contingencies you don’t know exist.

It's not just the aircraft themselves that could be a problem it's the increase in air traffic they will bring, the airspace around major airports is already crowded so when you add in Uber aircraft as well as drones which are becoming more common it could be a recipe for disaster.

People have this idea it will be like the Jetsons where people just whiz about in aircraft seamlessly without any problems but the reality is more complicated.

Instead of road kill you'd have air-kill....Lucky pigs can't fly eh!...Oh, hang on a minute there.
